Jamie Foxx Makes First Public Appearance Since Medical Emergency
Jamie Foxx fans have been fearing the worst, but here’s some good news: TMZ has obtained footage of the actor seemingly in good health as he rode down the Chicago River on a mega-boat and waved to fans who recognized him.
Lately, there had been plenty of speculation about Jamie Foxx since news of his poor health broke back in April. Thanks to a statement from his daughter, we knew that Foxx was dealing with an unspecified medical condition, and this resulted in the delay of his in-production film Back In Action.
Jamie Foxx makes his first public appearance since his health scare, aboard a boat in Chicago.
Like many of us, Jamie Foxx is a relatively private person, and this resulted in very little detail about his health being released to the public. Outside of the announcement that he was dealing with a medical condition and periodic updates (often from costars) about his recovery, we knew nothing about what Foxx was dealing with.
While we’re not sure when the movie will actually release, it’s notable that the Fox Network already confidently announced that Foxx and his daughter Corrine would be hosting a reality show called We Are Family in 2024.
Most concerning, he spent three long months out of the public eye, and this led to grim speculation about whether the condition he was dealing with was much more serious than we first thought.
We don’t have any new info regarding Jamie Foxx’s medical complication or his recovery. However, it’s very heartening to not only see the Oscar-winning actor in the flesh but to see that he is apparently in good health and in good spirits.
He is seemingly still surrounded by the family that has helped him through his recovery, but he didn’t need their help to stand tall and proud as he waved to fans who were so excited to see him.
Interestingly, this isn’t the only recent bit of Jamie Foxx news that is likely to reassure worried fans. In addition to the footage on the boat, TMZ also obtained footage of the actor “spending a night out on the town in the Chicago area Saturday.”
In this footage, he seems to be happy and content and very confident on his feet — hardly the image of a man being held down by a frightening health condition.
Netflix’s Back In Action
While the footage makes it seem like Jamie Foxx is well on the road to recovery, we don’t yet know when he’s going to return to filming his Netflix action-comedy Back In Action.
The title for this particular film might very well be referring to Foxx’s costar Cameron Diaz, whom he personally convinced to star in this movie even though she retired from acting way back in 2014. While we’re not sure when the movie will actually release, it’s notable that the Fox Network already confidently announced that Foxx and his daughter Corrine would be hosting a reality show called We Are Family in 2024.
Perhaps the network knew something that this new footage helps to confirm: that whatever the mysterious medical condition was, it was not going to be enough to keep Jamie Foxx down.
Once the actor has fully recovered, we’re confident that he’ll go back to being the best part of every film and TV show he has been cast in. Until then, all we can hope for is to get a wave next time he goes boating alongside the Chicago River.
