It’s that time of year again when celebrities are reminding us that they are less hindered than we are with where they put down their roots in the colder months. Jaimie Alexander is avoiding the snow with a sun-filled destination, which is a good idea considering her Marvel co-star has had some troubles with the snow as of late. She treated her fans to a shot of herself on Instagram, soaking up the sun on Miami’s South Beach in a black bikini.
The image is one of many she posted to document her trip to South Florida, consisting of a selfie in sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat, accompanied by another ocean shot to prove that she was in paradise. She also posted images of her living it up on balconies with cityscape views and hanging out with friends. The actress definitely rang in the New Year right, as she closed out a busy 2022.
Jaimie Alexander has been in the business for the last 18 years and has made a name for herself by playing tough women with the ability to overcome anything that is thrown her way. She spent the 2000s working on TV series with appearances in Bones, NCIS, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and also had recurring roles in Kyle XY (appearing in 33 episodes as Jessi) and Watch Over Me (appearing in 58 episodes as Caitlin Porter). However, she is most well known for portraying exceptionally capable women in one TV series and one massive franchise.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for turning some actors into superstars and giving others just enough exposure to launch their careers. Jaimie Alexander appeared in the first Thor film in 2011 as Lady Sif, the only female warrior in Thor’s trusted squad of elite fighters. She appeared as the trustworthy companion in Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Love and Thunder, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, What If…, and Loki.
2011 was a massive year for the actress, as she not only got her big break in Thor but also appeared in Nurse Jackie, Covert Affairs, a Thor video game, a short, and a small film, but she also landed her lead role in the most prominent project of her career.
That was the year that Jaimie Alexander became Jane Doe in Blindspot, following a person with amnesia who wakes up in a duffle bag in Times Square, covered in tattoos. The FBI follows her tattoos to stop massive plots against civilians and discovers that not only is she an elite agent in her own right, but she also was an integral part of the underground cabal of revolutionaries behind the crimes.
With those two projects spanning the majority of the 2010s, Jaimie Alexander didn’t have a ton of time to expand her horizons, but she was able to appear in a few projects like The Last Stand with Arnold Schwarzenegger. 2022 saw her character meet her end in Thor: Love and Thunder at the hands of Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. Plus, she was also alongside Gerard Butler as his disappeared wife in Last Seen Alive and Morgan Freeman and Cole Hauser in The Moment You Wake Up Dead.
With 2022 being a busy year for the actress, she definitely deserves to soak up the beginning of 2023 on the shores of South Beach in Miami.
