Henry Cavill Is Suddenly Worried That He Has A Terrible Nose
Henry Cavill thought an interviewer was calling out his nose, and the Superman actor responded, "It's not great, but it's not terrible, right?"
Henry Cavill has insecurities just like the rest of us. This was evidenced when the actor appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast at 92NY in New York City last October. When asked how he overcomes adversity, especially the no’s he got when pursuing his acting dream, the Man of Steel star hesitated. But the pause wasn’t because of his skill set. He thought the interviewer was talking about his nose.
After asking the interviewer to repeat the question, Henry Cavill burst into awkward laughter as he explained what he thought was asked. “When you said nose, I was like, ‘It’s not great but it’s not terrible, right?’” the actor said. He then covered his face, telling the audience he suddenly felt incredibly self-conscious.
The 39-year-old certainly has nothing to worry about in terms of looks or acting ability. Henry Cavill topped the list of “The Most Handsome Faces of 2022,” compiled by popular YouTube channel TC Chandler. The DC star beat several other attractive men for the top spot and has been featured on the list 10 previous times.
Still, there was a time when Henry Cavill lost out on a role due to a perceived physical imperfection. When he auditioned for 2016’s Casino Royale, he was a strong contender for the part. But the director ended up going with Daniel Craig because he thought the Superman star was too out of shape. But the British star isn’t bitter about the missed opportunity.
Despite the rejection, his career flourished as he went on to play characters like Superman, Sherlock Holmes, and Geralt of Rivia. The Henry Cavill clip has been doing the rounds on social media as fans come to terms with their favorite Superman being unceremoniously dumped by DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran in December 2022.
At the time, Henry Cavill was told that he no longer fits into their vision of the character. The new Superman will focus on Clark Kent’s time as a reporter for the Daily Planet. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn has been working on a script for a while but has no plans to direct it. The actor responded to the news with a heartfelt message on Instagram.
“I will, after all, not be returning as Superman. After being told by the studio to announce my return, this news isn’t the easiest, but that’s life,” he wrote. Henry Cavill added that the changing of the guard is something that happens and he respects that. He also wished everyone involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.
Henry Cavill will next be seen in Argylle. Billed as a spy film, the project is directed by Matthew Vaughn from a script by Jason Fuchs. The movie features an ensemble cast, including Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, Rob Delaney, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, and Samuel L. Jackson.
The story follows a world-class spy who has lost his memory. As a result, he is tricked into believing he is a best-selling spy novelist. But when his memories and lethal skills return, he seeks revenge against the shadowy organization he used to work for. Starring Henry Cavill, the movie will serve as the first installment in a franchise.
