Florence Pugh continues to dress as she pleases despite criticism from her detractors. The Marvel alum was determined to make her stance on what’s acceptable in fashion very clear as she stepped out at Paris Fashion Week in an outfit that put her nipples on display. The actress wore a stunning two-piece sheer Valentino ensemble was embellished with gold sequins.
She wore nude briefs beneath the skirt and nothing under the matching top which was held together by a single button and a whole lot of faith from Florence Pugh. The Don’t Worry Darling star accessorized her look with gold jewelry and bronze makeup. She wore gold sandals on her feet, carried a white handbag, and had her hair slicked back into a chic wet-look style. Her stylist, Rebecca Corbin-Murray also showed off the look in a collection of photos on social media.
Florence Pugh’s sheer outfit indicates that the 26-year-old is determined to make fashion choices that make her happy while quieting the haters who previously had problems with her nakedness. At the Valentino Fall/Winter 2022 Haute Couture show over the summer, the actress wore a pink Valentino dress that was also see-through and showed her nipples, People reports.
After wearing the bright pink ensemble, Florence Pugh took to social media to call out everyone who seemed to have an issue with her dress. She also noted that she loved and felt great in it. “I was excited to wear it, not a wink of me was nervous,” she wrote. “I wasn’t before, during, or even after.” She then added that it was interesting to watch just how easy it is for men to destroy a woman’s body, publicly, and proudly, for everyone to see.
This is the second time in two months that Florence Pugh has made headlines at an event. During the premiere of Don’t Worry Darling at the Venice Film Festival, the actress was seen leaving in the middle of the film’s standing ovation. There were also rumors of a fallout between the star, who skipped the press conference in favor of hanging out at her hotel, and director Olivia Wilde. The Black Widow star only made an appearance at the red carpet photo call.
Meanwhile, the actress will be seen in the upcoming Netflix period drama called The Wonder. The film is directed by Sebastián Lelio from a screenplay he co-wrote with Emma Donoghue and Alice Birch. The story is based on Donaghue’s 2016 novel of the same name and stars Florence Pugh, Tom Burke, Niamh Algar, Josie Walker, Elaine Cassidy, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Toby Jones, Dermot Crowley, Brían F. O’Byrne, and Ciarán Hinds.
The movie, which recently had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, is set in 1862 just after the Great Famine. The story follows an English Nightingale Nurse named Lib Wright (Florence Pugh), who is called to a devout community in the Irish Midlands to examine an 11-year-old girl who claims to have not eaten for four months. Instead, she is surviving on “manna from heaven.” As the child’s health deteriorates, Lib is determined to find out what’s really going on.
The Wonder, starring Florence Pugh, will be released in theaters on November 2nd before it hits Netflix on November 16th.
