See Florence Pugh In A Silk Nightgown And Ridiculous Cape
This article is more than 2 years old
Florence Pugh showed up to the British Independent Film Awards this year in a nightgown-inspired dress and a ridiculously giant tulle cape, a look so striking that she overshadowed even her fellow movie stars on the red carpet. The Black Widow actress posted photos of herself on her popular Instagram account (which she also uses to opine that the popular yogurt sauce tzatziki goes with “everything), showing off her insanely glamorous look. Florence Pugh has always been known for remarkably stylish and sexy outfits, but this one raises the bar to some pretty bonkers levels.
As you can see above, the first image in the Instagram carousel shows Florence Pugh striding down a hallway with a neutral expression and her head slightly cocked. More importantly, it shows off her magazine outfit, which consists of a silky, nightgown-like pale pink dress by Rodarte (whose founders, sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy are tagged in the image), paired with a long, diaphanous tulle cape. Florence Pugh is also wearing earrings and a small diamond pendant from Tiffany & Co. and a large white flower, corsage-style.
The second photo in the set is a close-up shot of Yelena Belova herself, revealing Florence Pugh’s short blonde hair to be styled by Peter Lux and her understated yet glamorous makeup by Alex Babsky. The third photo is the real kicker, which shows the tulle Rodarte cape to be truly enormous, able to fill an entire small room by itself. It is the kind of otherworldly, bizarrely fashionable look that only a movie star could pull off, but fortunately, Florence Pugh is one of those.
Florence Pugh’s most recent feature film was the controversial, surprisingly commercially successful science fiction film Don’t Worry Darling. In the film, she played a mid-century housewife who begins to doubt the reality of the world around her, which, if you’re in a movie and you do that, it’s rarely a good sign. The film co-starred Harry Styles, Nick Kroll, Chris Pine, and director Olivia Wilde, and was a mainstay of headlines in the months up to its release due to the allegedly chaotic environment during production.
Despite all the press about the romantic relationship between Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh refusing to do anything but minimal promotion for the film, Don’t Worry Darling pulled in a tidy $86 million at the box office. Florence Pugh is currently set to star in the upcoming Dune 2, in which she will play Princess Irulan, a previously unseen character. In the original Dune novel by Frank Herbert, Irulan was a largely off-screen character who largely made her presence known through references to her voluminous written work, but if you’re casting Florence Pugh in your movie, you’re likely going to have her show up more than that.
In addition to Dune 2, Florence Pugh will star in Thunderbolts, the Marvel Cinematic Universe answer to The Suicide Squad. Along with David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, and many others, Pugh will play one of the more morally ambiguous characters in the MCU, though the plot is still tightly under wraps.
