Ezra Miller’s Accusers Have Made A Surprising Request In Court
No one expected that.

There’s at least one celebrity who — PR wise — has been doing even worse than Will Smith lately and that’s Ezra Miller. The day after the the Slap Heard ‘Round Chris Rock’s Face, Ezra Miller was arrested in Hawaii for disorderly conduct, and soon afterward had a restraining order filed on them by the same couple they were reportedly staying with. Now that same couple has surprised everyone by requesting the restraining order be lifted.
As reported by People, the alleged victims appeared in court two weeks after filing the restraining order against Ezra Miller to request it be lifted. The judge residing over the case dismissed the restraining order as the couple requested. People says the couple’s lawyer, William Dean, confirmed the request without providing a reason for it.
The couple originally filed the restraining order on Wednesday, March 30. According to People, Ezra Miller had been staying at their home when the actor was arrested a couple of days earlier after allegedly yelling obscenities at a bar and allegedly trying to physically stop patrons from singing karaoke and playing darts. The couple claimed that some time after bailing them out, Miller “burst into their bedroom” and threatened them, saying “I will bury you and your slut wife.” The couple alleged the actor then stole a wallet, passport, social security card, and ATM cards from the couple before leaving.
There’s no word on why the couple chose to have the restraining order removed, but considering Miller’s celebrity status, there’s sure to be speculation that it played a factor. Along with being the lead of next year’s The Flash, Ezra Miller also stars in the Fantastic Beasts films, the third of which — Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore — hits theaters this week.
In the wake of the news, reports surfaced that Warner Bros executives were meeting to discuss slamming the brakes on any and all projects in which Ezra Miller is involved, including The Flash and any upcoming Fantastic Beasts films. There were also new reports that Miller had allegedly suffered multiple emotional meltdowns while filming The Flash, though these were reportedly all non-violent outbursts.
On Tuesday, Variety speculated that news of the Ezra Miller arrest and subsequent restraining order could be one of the final nails in the Fantastic Beasts‘ coffin. Between the public’s diminishing view of Harry Potter creator JK Rowling, the seemingly endless Johnny Depp/Amber Heard drama, and now Ezra Miller, the prequel films have suffered a lot more scandal than you would think possible for a franchise whose heroes and villains are often given the same kinds of names you’d expect lawn gnomes to have.
A lot of fans have proposed a solution to Warner Bros for at least one of the besieged franchises — replace Ezra Miller with Grant Gustin as The Flash. After the news of Miller’s arrest surfaced, loads of fans took to Twitter to say it was the perfect opportunity to correct an old mistake. Of course while it’s likely replacing Miller is an option on the table for the studio, it doesn’t seem very likely for the release of the upcoming The Flash film. The movie is already in post-production. And considering all the stars involved and how effects-heavy it will certainly be, it’s doubtful an 11th hour digital switch along the lines of the famous Christopher Plummer/Kevin Spacey switcheroo for 2017’s All the Money in the World would be an affordable option.
