One of the most inevitable aspects of social media is that it takes our nostalgia into overdrive. And not just nostalgia for things like beloved old franchises, but simple nostalgia for the good times you can’t help but miss. It turns out generous star Eva Longoria is no stranger to this nostalgia, and she recently posted an incredible picture of herself in a bikini via Instagram while lamenting how much she misses the warmer weather.

Considering that Longoria captioned the image by asking if “anyone else” was “missing the summer sun,” chances are she is annoyed by the winter weather and (like all of us) daydreaming about warmer days.
Part of what makes this image so captivating is that it looks like a real slice of Eva Longoria’s life. Rather than beaming up at the camera and flashing her famous smile, the star instead looks very pensive, as if she is staring down the middle distance at an old memory. Think of it as nostalgia inception: modern Longoria is longing for sunny days past even as killer tan Longoria, too, was casting her mind back to better days.
One reason why Eva Longoria might be nostalgic for those sunny days has less to do with the climate and more to do with her schedule. As of this writing, the veteran actor has a whopping seven upcoming roles in shows such as Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico and movies such as the latest adaptation of The War of the Worlds. In short, the woman has been very busy lately, and like anyone getting overwhelmed by responsibilities, she is wishing instead to be once again relaxing under the sun.
Part of what makes images like this so exciting (beyond the obvious) is that, compared to many similar stars, Eva Longoria isn’t exactly known for posting thirst traps on her Instagram account. Even though this particular image is enough to transform captivated fans into that horny wolf from the old Looney Tunes cartoon, Longoria’s other recent posts have focused on things like her career, her family, and even the occasional Monday Motivation post. Now that she is throwing in the occasional scantily-clad pic, we can only imagine that her fans, like Longoria herself, will now be counting down until bikini season is here once more.
Fortunately for us all, Eva Longoria is much more than a pretty face, and she is now rightfully enjoying her moment in Hollywood. Once upon a time, many haters thought she would never amount to anything after the conclusion of Desperate Housewives, but she has continued to steadily act, and shows like the upcoming Land of the Women represent her chance to make a Hollywood comeback in a big way. And if the hot bikini pics also make a big comeback, you won’t catch any of us complaining.
