See Emilia Clarke In A Bright Red Mini-Dress
An Emilia Clarke fan page posts a gorgeous image of the star in a red mini-dress.
During her time on HBO’s Game of Thrones, Emilia Clarke — who played the dragon-riding, vengeance-thirsty Daenerys Targaryen — gathered a giant following of loyal fans. As we look forward to her big MCU debut in Secret Invasion, Instagram fan account @emiliaclarke_lovers has shared a gorgeous photo of the Last Christmas star, which you can see below, posing on the red carpet in a short bright red dress. Hitting the step and repeat at what appears to be an event for GQ and Hugo Boss, Clarke’s eye-catching garment has a gorgeous floral pattern of dark reds up against a blindingly bright red background.
The four-time Emmy Award-nominated actress is certainly best known for her role as the Dragon Queen on HBO’s fan-favorite fantasy series and has had a difficult time shaking the part since the show bowed out in May 2019. She joined another long-running franchise during her time on Game of Thrones when Emilia Clarke added her name to the call sheet of Ron Howard’s underwhelming Solo: A Star Wars Story. After the show wrapped, she appeared in Phillip Noyce’s crime thriller Above Suspicion and Paul Feig’s holiday rom-com Last Christmas.
While none of her roles outside Game of Thrones have wowed audiences as much as her performance in the beloved series, Emilia Clarke is poised for a major comeback to the world of the nerds (I say that term with love, as a fellow nerd) due to her upcoming role in Marvel and Disney+’s Secret Invasion. Set to premiere this year, the highly anticipated six-episode series will revolve around the Skrulls, a group of shapeshifting aliens, who will wreak havoc after landing on Earth. While her role in the Phase Five production was kept on the hush-hush for a long time, we recently found out that Emilia Clarke will be starring in the series as Abigail Brand, the commander of S.W.O.R.D.
Emilia Clarke will be joined by some very familiar Marvel faces including Samuel L. Jackson who will reprise his role as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as good-guy Skrull leader Talos, Cobie Smulders as former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill, Martin Freeman as ex-CIA agent Everett K. Ross, and Don Cheadle as long-time Avenger James “Rhodey” Rhodes aka War Machine. Newcomers will include Kingsley Ben-Adir as the bad-guy Skrull leader Gravik and Olivia Colman as special agent Sonya Falsworth. We can also expect to see big names including Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Carmen Ejogo, Killian Scott, and Charlayne Woodard appear in yet-to-be-announced roles.
With her Marvel takeover on the horizon, Emilia Clarke is well on her way to breaking through to another major franchise. Along with Secret Invasion, Clarke fans can expect to see the actress back on the silver screen in 2023 in Sophie Barthes’ sci-fi romantic comedy, The Pod Generation. Gearing up for its January 19 release at the Sundance Film Festival, the feature will also star Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rosalie Craig, Vinette Robinson, Kathryn Hunter, and Jean-Marc Barr in a story about a futuristic world that allows hopeful parents to jump-start their families with artificial wombs and pods.
