Amber Heard is currently stuck in the middle of a trial between her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Depp is suing for the sum of $50 million, while Heard is countersuing for $100 million. Depp’s legal team has all but tried to paint Heard as a dishonest person in the trial, and part of her alleged dishonesty refers to a donation she had apparently given to a children’s art charity called Art of Elysium. The CEO of this charity claims that the money that had been donated allegedly came from Elon Musk. This is the second charity that claims a donation was made in Heard’s name but came from the billionaire’s accounts.

Elon Musk and Amber Heard began dating right after Heard and Depp had divorced in 2016. Questions of infidelity were also brought up in the courtroom as Depp had claimed that the pair were dating one another while he was still married to the actress. At one point, Musk was meant to testify in court, although that never happened. The whole aspect of Johnny Depp’s legal team is to prove that Heard is dishonest and that her claims that Depp abused her while they were married are false. Depp’s legal team brought up the false charity issues earlier in the trial as well. Heard stated that she had planned to donate her $7 million divorce settlement to two charities: the ACLU and Children’s Hospital of LA. However, both have not received this money. In fact, the ACLU received three donations totaling $950,000. One of the three donations is said to have come from Musk, one from Amber Heard, and one from Depp’s money manager.

Amber Heard also shorted the Children’s Hospital by a great margin, as a representative stated they only received $250,000 from the actress and an additional $100,00 from Depp’s money manager as part of the divorce settlement. Heard claims that she had planned to pay both charities in installments over a course of years but had stopped these payments when Johnny Depp began his defamation lawsuit in 2019. Though that does seem like a good reason to stop payments, considering how much legal fees will cost both the actors, receiving money from Elon Musk to donate will not go over well in court.

Elon Musk has not yet commented on the fact that he was been named as the “anonymous” donor in two of the cases which Amber Heard claimed were done by her. He also not commented on the trial in general. That is likely because of the drama and negative publicity that both Heard and Depp have been receiving from the trial. This is likely one of the situations where it’s best to stay out of it, especially considering Musk has the drama of purchasing Twitter to deal with right now.

Elon Musk might also want to stay quiet should he get Amber Heard into more trouble in the courtroom. The defamation trial between Depp and Heard is set to conclude on Friday, as Judge Penney Azcarate has asked for closing statements on May 27th. This could mean that we are set to hear a verdict by next week. Should it be confirmed that Musk had donated all that money instead of Heard, she might have a hard time being looked at as honest any longer.
