In addition to his memorable turn in the aforementioned The Umbrella Academy, Elliot Page has also starred in X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Juno, Inception, Whip It, Hard Candy, and many other films. Page is perhaps best known for starring in the acclaimed 2007 film Juno, but his tenure as the X-Men character Kitty Pryde also turned heads and cemented him as an actor worth watching. It will be great to see which roles he tackles next.
Elliot Page came out as transgender in December 2020. His candid message to his fans read, in part: “despite feeling profoundly happy right now and knowing how much privilege I carry, I am also scared. I’m scared of the invasiveness, the hate, the ‘jokes’ and the violence.” But while he expressed his fears and concerns, he also had hope and optimism to share. “I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self. I’ve been endlessly inspired by so many in the trans community.”
Elliot Page has quite a bit coming up that his fans will undoubtedly be excited to see. In the movie realm, he will be voicing Dusky in Naya: Legend of the Golden Dolphin and Izzy in Robodog. Neither of these films have release dates but both are in post-production. Definitely keep your eyes peeled for those. On the television side of things, he will also show up in Ark: The Animated Series sometime in 2022. He is not currently scheduled for much more beyond that, but you can bet confidently that we will absolutely be hearing of more casting announcements involving the actor very soon. He is an incredible force for positive change, a steadfast proponent of love, acceptance, and equality. The folks in Hollywood are unbelievably lucky to have him, and it is great to see that they are beginning to realize that, too. We are all lucky to have him, and interviews like this really illuminate just how humble, kind, and eager for change he is.
We wish Elliot Page continued happiness and success in his life and career, and we cannot wait to see what he does next.
Oh, and as a side note: if you have not checked Elliot Page out in The Umbrella Academy yet, what on Earth are you waiting for? That show is phenomenal. While you’re at it, too, make sure you revisit him in Juno sooner rather than later. He is astounding in that movie and scored nominations for a bunch of big-name awards for his performance.
