Many would expect Eiza Gonzalez to take at least a brief break after the hard work of promoting Ambulance. Instead, she’s doing a cover shoot for TINGS Magazine. The actress is a frequent poster on Instagram, where she shared several photos from the shoot. In the first, she’s wearing a golden dress with buckle straps that have a futuristic look to them. In others, she’s rocking a classic black dress with diamonds.

With roles in Baby Driver, Godzilla Vs. Kong, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, and now Michael Bay’s new movie Ambulance under her belt, Eiza Gonzalez is making a name for herself as an action movie icon. The new Michael Bay movie was one of her biggest roles yet as the paramedic driving the ambulance stolen by Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s characters. While Ambulance seems set to become a box office flop, the film has been well-liked by those who’ve gone to see it. Rotten Tomatoes has given the movie a solid 69% from critics, which is a high score for a Michael Bay movie. Audiences have given it a surprising 87%. The audience consensus suggests that viewers shouldn’t be looking for a movie that necessarily makes sense, but that it is a solid movie experience with the right expectations.
While Ambulance may be more appreciated for its car chase scenes and big fun moments, Eiza Gonzalez took her work on the film completely seriously. During interviews leading up to the film’s release, she confessed that she fought with her director on set. Explaining why, she said, “I felt a lot of pressure to bring to life a paramedic that felt real in the time that we’re living. First responders have been dedicating their lives fully, forever obviously, but more than ever. It’s very transparently obvious what they are bringing to our society. And so I just didn’t want to make a joke or cartoon version of who they were.”
While many may brush off action movies, or the work of Michael Bay, Eiza Gonzalez takes what she does fairly seriously. She’s doing quite a lot of it, too. She got her start in Mexico, where she was born. One of her first big roles was in From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series. The series saw her taking on the character of Santanico Pandemonium, previously played by Salma Hayek in the movies. The character’s famous snake dancing scene was recreated for the series.
These days, we’re excited to see Eiza Gonzalez in her new sci-fi series for Netflix. Nearly a year ago, we exclusively reported that Gonzalez was cast in The Three-Body Problem. That report from our trusted and proven inside source was soon confirmed in a report from Deadline. All this time later, her specific role has yet to be announced, which is surprising. The new series should be a major project on the streaming service, and it’s an adaptation of a best-selling novel. It seems highly possible that she may be playing a newly created character for the series, but we’ll have to wait to find out. It’s going to be interesting to see how the dense sci-fi novel is adapted for a series. It seems like it will put Eiza Gonzalez’s seriousness to good use.
