Dove Cameron Looks Amazing In Nothing But A Velvet Open Coat
Dove Cameron's goth fashion continues to astound with an incredible black velvet suit with an open jacket.
Singer, actress, social media influencer, and Disney Princess Dove Cameron decided to rock the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of Mel Brook’s History of the World Part II. After waiting over 40 years for the sequel, those in attendance could finally see the legendary comedian’s latest anthology, even if the rest of us have to wait a few more months for the Hulu release. Broadway World reported on the event, noting the amazing lineup of celebrities on hand just as fans, including Cameron, that wanted to support Brooks’ latest project.
With what has become her new signature hair color, Dove Cameron walked the carpet in a black velvet suit from Dundas. Adopting a darker aesthetic as of late, the Descendant’s star continues to distance herself from the blonde hair and bright colors that marked her earlier career with Disney. Oversized clothing is a new and growing trend among young Hollywood, and while the jacket’s fit could have been tighter, there’s no denying that it looks great.
The best part about the History of the World Part II premiere photos is the confidence shown by the rising actress. Now 27, Cameron had an amazing 2022 with the instant success of “Boyfriend,” her first solo song that wasn’t from a soundtrack. Reaching number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and number nine on the UK Singles Chart, along with an astronomical half a million clips made on TikTok using the song “Boyfriend,” which ended up going Platinum.
Two more singles, “Breakfast” and “Bad Idea,” were released throughout the year, culminating for Dove Cameron at the American Music Awards. In addition to performing “Boyfriend,” she won New Artist of the Year, just a few months after winning Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards. With a Platinum single, two prestigious awards, and multiple acclaimed live performances, it will be hard for 2023 to improve on her recent success.
It’s good that Cameron’s music career is starting to take off, as the biggest name project she’s attached to is the live-action Powerpuff Girls. Stuck in development at The CW for over two years, Dove Cameron was supposed to play Bubbles alongside Chloe Bennet (Agents of SHIELD) as Blossom and singer Yana Perault as Buttercup. Since the production took so long, Bennet has dropped out, leaving the plum role of Blossom unfilled at the moment.
While Powerpuff Girls may not happen, the feature film Field Notes on Love with her Live and Maddie co-star Jordan Fisher. Based on Jennifer E. Smith’s 2019 YA romance novel of the same name, the film follows Fisher’s Hugo after his girlfriend dumps him with a nonrefundable cross-country train ticket and places an ad for a replacement. Dove Cameron plays Mae, a film school hopeful that answers the ad and joins Hugo for a trip along the tracks.
Though Field Notes on Love is only in pre-production, it’ll be out before the snake bit Powerpuff Girls series, and in the meantime, Dove Cameron may surprise fans with more top-selling music tracks as 2023 rolls on.
