Dave Grohl Faces Huge Backlash After Fathering Daughter Out Of Wedlock

Fans have long considered Dave Grohl one of the few “good guys” left in the music industry, but that all changed when the Foo Fighters frontman announced he was having a baby out of wedlock. Grohl took to Instagram Tuesday to confess that he recently fathered a daughter with a woman other than his wife. This new addition to the Grohl family will be the singer’s fourth child.

He’s Got Another Confession To Make

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” the former Nirvana drummer wrote. Dave Grohl stressed that he loves his wife of 21 years, Jordyn Blum, and the pair’s three daughters, aged 18, 15, and 10. The oldest of the three—18-year-old singer Violet Grohl—has since deactivated her Instagram account in response to the shocking news.

Dave Grohl finished his post by asking everyone to consider “all the children involved” as the Grohl family tries to “move forward together.” The 55-year-old rock star and his representatives have declined to share any further details about Grohl’s new daughter or her mother. For now, Dave appears to be letting the announcement speak for itself.

Grohl’s Previous Marriage

This isn’t Dave Grohl’s first admission of infidelity. The “Everlong” singer once acknowledged that his cheating played a role in the breakdown of his first marriage to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood. Grohl was married to Youngblood, a photographer, from 1994 until 1997, when the couple divorced over Grohl’s unfaithfulness.

Dave Grohl would meet his second wife, Jordyn Blum, four years later at MTV. Blum was a producer for the network when she first met her future husband in 2001. The pair got married two years later, in 2003.

That same year, Dave Grohl gave Teen People an interview in which he made comments about Blum that have since aged like milk. Grohl told the magazine that with Jordyn, “being honest is easy,” and claimed with her, he had “nothing to hide.”

“My Hero” Used Without The Band’s Permission

This is the second time Dave Grohl has been in the news lately. Last month Dave and the rest of the Foo Fighters made headlines when they called out Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump for using their music without permission. The former president drew the band’s ire when he used the Foo Fighters’ song “My Hero” at an August campaign rally in Arizona.

The Foo Fight On The Trump Front

A spokesman for the band quickly issued a statement declaring that Dave Grohl and his band members never gave Donald Trump the okay to use their music. According to the statement, not only would the band have declined if asked, but any royalties the band received from the Trump event would be donated directly to the Harris/Walz campaign.

“Big Me To Talk About It”

Dave Grohl’s Instagram confession recently led to a viral post from a woman claiming to be the mother of the performer’s new daughter. The woman included an image of a newborn, claiming it was Grohl’s and that the couple had named her “Roxie Junie Grohl.” Grohl’s representatives quickly shot down the woman’s claims and told multiple news outlets that the post was 100 percent fake.

While Dave Grohl’s honesty is admirable, it remains to be seen how Foo Fighters fans will react in the long run.
