English actor Charlie Cox has made a name for himself by playing the titular role in the Netflix comic book television series Daredevil, taking on the superhero persona of lawyer Matt Murdock. Cox is already making waves by reprising the role on a number of projects for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now a picture has been posted to an Instagram fan account showing how hard the sweaty actor has been working with MMA fighter Chris Fields to train for Daredevil: Born Again. Learning how to be an elite fighter alongside an MMA professional, Cox is gearing up for the Disney+ reboot by training with Fields ahead of the series’ 2024 debut on the streamer, as Fields is the owner and founder of Team KF Martial Arts in Ireland.

Charlie Cox is currently training for Daredevil: Born Again, a new limited series for Disney+ that will see his character of Matt Murdock alongside Vincent D’Onofrio in a stellar 18-episode series order for the subscription streaming platform. Cox’s time on Disney+ began earlier this year when he appeared in two episodes as a special guest star on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, opposite series stars Tatiana Maslany, Jameela Jamil, Ginger Gonzaga, and Mark Ruffalo.

He initially reprised the role for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the blockbuster 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home, in a cameo that elated audiences who knew Cox’s work as Matt Murdock on the Netflix series Daredevil, which ran on the streamer for 39 episodes from 2015 to 2018.

Since his time on Netflix where Charlie Cox played Daredevil, the actor has been called upon by Kevin Feige and executives at Marvel Studios to take the role to new heights. The appearances on She: Hulk: Attorney at Law were just the start, as Cox will soon be featured on the new series Echo which will premiere sometime in mid-2023, which will co-star Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Alaqua Cox, Zahn McClarnon, and Vincent D’Onofrio.

While D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox have been confirmed to star in Daredevil: Born Again, Collider reports that Cox will also lend his voice to the Daredevil character as one of the stars of the animated series Spider-Man: Freshman Year, debuting on Disney+ in 2024 as an origin story for Peter Parker’s Spider-Man persona.

Prior to Charlie Cox taking on Daredevil, the 39-year-old actor came to television audiences’ attention when he played Owen Sleater in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire, as well as the television film Legacy for BBC Two. Taking to the stage in London’s West End in the mid-2000s on multiple projects, Cox then crossed the pond to begin a Broadway run in 2019 as Jerry in the hit play Betrayal, originally written by Harold Pinter.

He has also taken his talents to the film world by costarring in a string of British productions like Glorious 39, A Sunny Morning, Hello Carter, and the Academy Award-winning biographical film The Theory of Everything alongside Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones, Emily Watson, and David Thewlis.
