See Brie Larson Wielding A Dangerous Weapon In Real Life
Thor may be the only ax-wielding Avenger in the MCU, but Brie Larson’s most recent Instagram post makes a strong case for Captain Marvel getting one, too. The Marvel star recently spent a day ax throwing and it looks like she was able to nail a bullseye. If you weren’t convinced by her action chops on screen, it seems like Larson is plenty capable with weapons in real life, too.
While ax throwing might not be in Brie Larson’s typical workout regimen, she’s undoubtedly hitting the gym on a regular basis with all of her upcoming action projects. Outside of some cameos here and there, we haven’t seen her play Captain Marvel, aka Carol Danvers, since her appearance in Avengers: Endgame. Fortunately, we don’t have too much longer to wait for her next big solo film when she returns for The Marvels in 2023.
Although The Marvels is the sequel to Captain Marvel, Brie Larson won’t be the only hero on screen. She’ll also be joined by Iman Vellani’s Khamala Khan and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau, who both got chances to shine in Ms. Marvel and WandaVision, respectively. Samuel L. Jackson will also be back as Nick Fury along with newcomers Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.
Before we see Brie Larson return as Captain Marvel on July 28, 2023, we’ll get to see her make her debut in another major action franchise when Fast X hits theaters in May. The tenth mainline entry to the Fast & Furious franchise is meant to be the first of a two-part finale, so we’ll be seeing the end of the story that started way back in 2001.
Along with Larson, Fast X will also star Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, John Cena, Jason Momoa, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Michael Rooker, Cardi B, Helen Mirren, Rita Moren, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, and Charlize Theron.
Although we’re used to seeing Brie Larson on the big screen, she has some small screen projects in the works, as well. Her big upcoming project with Apple TV+ is titled Lessons in Chemistry and is based on the debut novel of the same name by Bonnie Garmus. The series is a period piece set in the 1960s about a woman named Elizabeth Zott who dreams of being a scientist.
Lessons in Chemistry stars Larson as Zott, who finds herself pregnant, fired from her lab, and suddenly taking on a job as a TV cooking show host to stay afloat. However, she takes the opportunity to teach the overlooked housewives at home more than just recipes. The series also stars Lewis Pullman, Aja Naomi King, Stephanie Koenig, Patrick Walker, Thomas Mann, Kevin Sussman, and Beau Bridges.
Lessons in Chemistry doesn’t have an official release date yet, but Deadline reports that it should be released by Apple sometime in 2023. There also isn’t a current release date for Brie Larson’s other planned TV series where she stars as a CIA undercover operative. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated with any news about her upcoming projects.
