Brie Larson is emerging from a couple of years out of the direct spotlight (comparatively speaking) and is doing it in style. The Captain Marvel star has an impressive social media presence, with seven million accounts currently following her on Instagram, all of whom got to see a glamour shot of the actress in a skintight dress. It is unclear what event Brie Larson might have gotten all dressed up for, but we are grateful for whatever it was.
The two-picture set posted by Brie Larson on Instagram begins with the actress gazing directly toward camera, with her famous cheekbones being breathtakingly contoured by makeup artist Nina Park (who was thoughtfully tagged in the picture). Brie Larson appears to be sitting in a green room of some kind and keen-eyed observers might notice the out-of-focus white spheres on the right side of the image are likely lights around a dressing table. We will surmise that the Fast and Furious actress is likely preparing to appear on a talk show, but we will just have to see.
The second picture really brings the goods, with Brie Larson now showing a three-quarters body shot and a dramatic off-screen look. She is wearing a tight, beaded gold dress with a halter-neck top that shows off her very toned shoulders. It is belted around her west with a stylish chain belt, buckled with the center with a large “V.”
That V is for Maison Valentino, the legendary European fashion house who designed the dress being amazingly worn by Brie Larson. According to the other tags in the Instagram picture, her hair was done by Bryce Scarlett and her wardrobe was styled by Samantha McMillen. All in all, the picture is a very good example of world-class style coming together to meet movie star charisma.
Brie Larson has not appeared in a full starring role in a feature film since the double-header of Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel in 2019, both of which featured her as Carol Danvers, one of the most powerful individuals in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since then, she has appeared in a number of Marvel cameos and short films, including the Disney+ docuseries, Growing Up and the eight-minute augmented-reality film Remembering (which was directed by her partner Elijah Allan-Blitz).
In 2023, Brie Larson will be back in a big way, starring in both the tenth Fast and Furious movie Fast X and the 33rd MCU movie, The Marvels. Fast X will costar the usual F&F gang, including Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, and bring in newcomers Brie Larson, Jason Momoa, Daniela Melchior, and Alan Ritchson. The Marvels will bring back Brie Larson as Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers, as well as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris).
Additionally, Brie Larson will soon be starring in the Apple TV+ series Lessons in Chemistry, based on the popular novel by Bonnie Garmus. Brie Larson will play a young scientist in the 1960s who stars in a cooking show after being fired from a lab due to pregnancy, finding she can use the series to educate about more than the culinary arts.
