See Brie Larson Loving Her New Pole Dancing Class
Well that's an interesting kind of class!

As a star of action blockbusters like 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, 2019’s Captain Marvel, and the upcoming Fast X, Brie Larson has to keep herself in top shape. Not that she or anyone else needs an excuse to work out, but she clearly has as much of a professional motivation to try different things as she does health-wise. In the Oscar-winning actress’ latest social media post, she’s momentarily set aside the weights for a kind of workout that might be seen as controversial — pole dancing.
Posted earlier today on her Instagram account, the photo series shows Brie Larson from different angles in what looks to be a pretty challenging pose during a pole dancing class. In the third and final photo she looks either like she’s lowering herself back to the floor or struggling to keep herself from doing so. In fact, she almost looks like she’s playing “The Floor Is Lava.” We can’t remember if she was in that episode of Community. You can see the images below.
There may be those who feel like this a scandalous photo shoot, but in fact pole dancing has become a popular and fun form of exercise. What is, however, arguably enough to get offended at is the joke Brie Larson makes in the caption: “Made an im-POLE-sive decision to try a new workout class.” We’ll forgive her this time.
Regardless, the photos are sure to stir at least a little bit of online controversy considering the actress’ massive following. Back in April, Brie Larson posted an image to her Instagram to celebrate a huge social media milestone. The photo showed Larson in a backless dress and above her the clouds had been photoshopped to reveal the follower number that she reached on Instagram: “7,000,000.” You can see that post below.
It’s always good to celebrate the wins while you can, because you’re going to have to suffer the losses regardless. Case in point: we’re all going to have to wait even longer to see Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani in The Marvels. The sequel to Captain Marvel was supposed to hit theaters this November, but in October Deadline broke the news that almost Marvel’s entire post-2021 film schedule had been pushed back. The Marvels was delayed to February 2023, while Black Panther: Wakanda Forever took the November date previously slated for The Marvels. Then, at the end of April, came the news that The Marvels was switching release dates with Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, further delaying The Marvels by another five months to July 28. 2023.
Reportedly, The Marvels and Ant-Man 3 switched places only because the latter film was further along in the post-production process. However we can’t help but speculate — and it is, for the record, only speculation — it’s a much more calculated move. The news of the switch came days after the news that two heavy hitters — Barbie and Oppenheimer — would both hit theaters on July 21. Considering Captain Marvel made more money than the first two Ant-Man movies combined, it’s reasonable to wonder if maybe Disney thinks Brie Larson has a better chance at competing against those two powerhouses than Paul Rudd.
