For a while now, Brie Larson has been more than happy to share her grueling workouts with her fans on social media. While physical fitness may be a good idea for everyone, in Larson’s case it’s also a professional imperative considering she plays one of the most powerful superheroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A nice side benefit for her fans is that it also gives her a splendid form she gets to show off in her other social media posts, like the one she put up today.
In the post on her official Instagram, Brie Larson looks ravishing in a pink corset and blue jeans. She tags Janelle Monáe in the caption, referring to her song “Pynk” off the 2018 album Dirty Computer. Within an hour of her posting the photo, it had attracted close to 150 thousand heated likes. You can see the image below.
Posting lovely pictures on Instagram and elsewhere is likely a good distraction for Brie Larson considering larger and larger pockets of her fans seem to be slowly, but surely, turning against her. Last week, Larson caught a lot of flack online after posting a video of what she called her “little corner” of the metaverse. The video included a digital recreation of Larson in a virtual gallery displaying NFTs the Captain Marvel star has apparently been amassing. NFTs remain a controversial subject, particularly because of the environmental impact of their maintenance, and plenty of fans expressed their disappointment in Larson for supporting the practice, including the famous pundit Keith Olbermann.
Actually, that controversy could answer a question we found ourselves asking shortly after the debacle, when rather than posting about NFTs, The Marvels or other upcoming screen projects, fashion, or physical fitness, Brie Larson posted a video about… yard work. Specifically, in the video Larson says she got a new composter as a present from her mom for Christmas. She shows her fans how to use it, and points out that it’s difficult to open which is, she says, a good thing because it makes it tougher for animals to get into. It could be Larson was paid by the composter to advertise their product, or it could also be her version of damage control. In other words, in the wake of being told she’s hurting the environment with NFTs, she could be essentially saying, “yeah, but I compost!” You can see that video below.
Regardless, we don’t think a lot of people are going to wind up staying home when The Marvels premieres next year. For the first time since her cameo in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Brie Larson will reprise the role of Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel. The sequel is directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman), from a script by Megan McDonnell (WandaVision). Larson will be joined by Iman Vellani, Teyonah Parris, Zawe Ashton, Samuel L. Jackson, and Park Seo-joon. The Marvels is scheduled to hit theaters February 17, 2o23.
