See Brie Larson Try To Make A Bonnet Look Cool
Brie Larson posted a photo of herself wearing a green and white bonnet that was crocheted by her The Marvels co-star Iman Venalli.
Brie Larson recently shared a few of her unique fashion accessories with fans on social media. “I used to think it was beret [season], but really its bonnet [season],” the Marvel alum said alongside two photos showcasing the unconventional hats. The first image sees the 33-year-old in a chic ensemble straight from an episode of the teen drama Gossip Girl.
In the second photo, Brie Larson pairs the bonnet with plaid pants and a jacket. While the old-timey hat might not be the coolest item, it was crocheted by Iman Venalli, who gave it to her co-star as a gift. “Shout out to Iman for crocheting my dream bonnet,” the actress said of the lime green and cream accessory. She is carrying a Celine Folco handbag in Triomphe canvas in both images.
The pair will star together in The Marvels, which is set for release on November 10th. Brie Larson returns to her role as Captain Marvel alongside Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau. Samuel L. Jackson also returns to the Marvel franchise as Nick Fury in the film directed by Nia DaCosta from a script by Megan McDonnell.
The story follows Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Kamala Khan, and Monica Rambeau, who begin swapping places whenever they use their powers. They eventually join forces up to find a solution. The movie was initially supposed to hit theaters in July. But it was delayed by several months to allow for post-production to be completed.
However, there have been claims that The Marvels was really pushed back because Brie Larson was unhappy with several aspects of the project. Speaking on the Hot Mic Podcast, Above the Line writer Jeff Schneider said the Fast X actress was disappointed with the movie being titled The Marvels instead of Captain Marvel 2.
Her displeasure stems from having to share prominence with Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani, who play Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, respectively. The former was a prominent character in the Disney+ series WandaVision, while the latter portrayed the titular character in Ms. Marvel. He also claimed that Brie Larson was dissatisfied with other elements of the sequel, like VFX, and has requested improvements.
Other alleged behind-the-scenes issues related to the Captain Marvel franchise include whispers of tensions between Brie Larson and her co-stars, particularly Samuel L. Jackson, who has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years. There have also been rumors that the studio decided to focus on an ensemble cast for the movie since the 33-year-old’s portrayal of the character was not well-received.
However, these claims were dismissed by a source speaking to ComicBook Movie. According to KC Walsh, insiders only have praise for Brie Larson and the entire cast of The Marvels. “[The] movie has gotten more positive praise from test than other MCU films this year,” Walsh said, adding that sexist viewers use her to garner favor with others who share similar views.
Away from the realm of superheroes, Brie Larson will star as Elizabeth Zott in Lessons in Chemistry. The series is based on Bonnie Garmus’ novel of the same name and will air on AppleTV+. Set in the 1960s, the story chronicles the life of an aspiring scientist who is fired from her job after becoming pregnant. So instead, she hosts a cooking show, teaching homemakers about the value of independence and food science’s intricacies.
