Brie Larson often shares photos and videos of herself on social media, either performing incredible feats of strength, modeling, or just being her quirky self. The Captain Marvel star is undeniably in great shape for her role as the cosmically-powered Avenger, but in her latest video, Larson demonstrates her grace and balance.
Dancing to a remix of the classic Christmas song, “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” while wearing a ballerina outfit, Brie Larson captioned the video “This is my official audition for #TheNutcracker.” While Misty Copeland doesn’t have to worry about the United States of Tara star taking her place as America’s favorite ballerina, Larson also moves well for someone that has long traded in the stage for a movie set. The goofy arm movements and facial expressions are quite common in her social media postings thanks to the actress’ strange sense of humor and ability to almost always have fun.
Brie Larson led the first female-starring MCU film with Captain Marvel in 2019, which made over a billion dollars at the box office and filled in some gaps about the early days of SHIELD. While the film garnered plenty of controversy from certain segments of the internet, and the statements of Larson herself in response to men that were vocally upset over the star’s casting, it was a massive success for Disney. Captain Marvel went on to be featured in Avengers: End Game and is set to return later this year in The Marvels.
The Marvels brings together Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, Iman Velleni as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau/Photon, including Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, and most importantly, Goose the alien that looks like a cat, will also return from the first film. Zawe Ashton has been cast as the villain of the film, though her character is currently unknown at this time. Rumored as well in an exclusive, is that Emilia Clarke’s character, will also be part of The Marvels before becoming a larger part of Secret Invasion.
In addition to the upcoming MCU reprisal, Brie Larson has joined another massive billion-dollar franchise, Fast and Furious, in the upcoming Fast X. Working with the entire ensemble, comprised of every character from the franchise’s history, Larson will play Tess, an unknown character that may be a friend or foe to Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto. Also debuting in the upcoming tenth film is Jason Momoa and Rita Moreno, while John Cena, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Rooker, Sung Kang, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Charlize Theron are all returning.
According to IMDB, Fast X will be the first one out this year on May 23rd while The Marvels will be out on July 28th. The past few years of hard work will finally pay off for Brie Larson, as she hasn’t had any major projects come out since Avengers: End Game.
