Many were shocked when Bob Saget tragically passed away unexpectedly on January 9th, and now the full death report has been released regarding the circumstances that led to his passing. According to the report, head trauma was the primary cause of Saget’s death. In the autopsy, it was found that Saget was also still positive with COVID-19 when he passed away, which may have contributed to him feeling unwell and hitting his head.
Pictures from the report reveal that Bob Saget’s hotel room was in very good condition at the time of his death, with nothing out of the ordinary in the pictures. His bed was made, his phone, glasses, headphones, and other small items were on a nightstand, some toiletries were on the counter, his rental car keys, and other generic items were photographed according to the reports. Generally, the report of the photographs reveals that it looked like you would expect a hotel room to look like when someone is staying in it. The report also includes redacted bodycam footage from the police on the scene and a photo taken by a fan at 2:13 AM, which is believed to be the last photo of the actor alive.
As reported by PEOPLE, there is also audio that was released — from Ponte Vedra Concert Hall staffer Rosalie Cocc — mentioning that Bob Saget wasn’t feeling well before his stand-up show on January 8th, likely due to the effects of his COVID infection. The report would go on to conclude that Saget likely hit the back of his head on something, causing his head trauma, and he possibly went to sleep thinking nothing of it. The family and the report also state that no drugs or alcohol were involved, which is consistent with the photos taken of the room and the autopsy report.
The report would go on to mention how most of Bob Saget’s hotel room was carpeted and that the headboard was padded. The incident report and autopsy revealed that Saget had severe fractures to the back of his head and around the eyes and that they likely could have been caused by a blunt force collision with something hard covered by something soft, like a fall on a carpeted floor or hitting a padded headboard.
The death of Bob Saget is a true tragedy, as the beloved comedian and Full House actor leaves behind his wife Kelly Rizzo and his three daughters Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer Saget. Saget was only 65 years old at the time of his passing and was still performing his stand-up routine on the road. The family was granted a temporary injunction the day following his death to block images and audio records from public release. The family was granted a permanent injunction on March 14, allowing the family to mourn the passing of Saget in peace. As the full written death report has been released to the public, it will likely put to rest any questions fans have about his passing and what led up to it.
