See Batwoman Javicia Leslie Dressed As Marvel’s Storm In Sexy Video, X-Men Next?
Javicia Leslie of Batwoman fame posts a high quality video of herself as the X-Men's Storm on social media.

Javicia Leslie may be done playing Batwoman, but the actress clearly wouldn’t mind stepping into another superhero’s boots. Over the weekend, the former The CW‘s Batwoman lead posted a video to her Instagram in which, after entering the bathroom, she transforms into Marvel‘s mutant hero Storm. Her outfit is much closer to the first one Ororo Munroe sported in the comics–as opposed to those worn by Halle Berry and Alexandra Shipp–as you can see in the video above and the comparison below.
In the caption to her video, Javicia Leslie wishes her followers “Happy Spooky Season,” but it probably isn’t too much of a stretch to speculate that rather than a gift to her fans, Leslie could be using the video as an unofficial audition. The video is pretty high quality for your average Instagram clip, and Leslie goes on to tag all the professional crew members who worked on it. With Batwoman in her rear view mirror, she may very well be trying to get Marvel Studio president Kevin Feige’s attention.
If so, Javicia Leslie could be throwing the gauntlet down at exactly the right time. Not only has Hugh Jackman been confirmed as reprising the role of Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3, but Ms. Marvel concluded with the revelation that the eponymous hero is a mutant. As recently as last week, Feige was quoted as saying the MCU is “getting close” to introducing the X-Men.
While her screen credits date back to 2010, Javicia Leslie made her first big splash when she replaced Ruby Rose as the lead of The CW’s Batwoman. The second season of the show opens with Rose’s Kate Kane missing and presumed dead after a plane crash, and Leslie’s Ryan Wilder finding her suit. After winning the trust of Kane’s allies, Ryan takes up the mantle of Batwoman officially.
Unfortunately, Batwoman proved to be one more title on a long list of series that got the axe at The CW before its sale to Nexstar Media. Along with Javicia Leslie’s series, fans of The CW’s “Arrowverse” shows said goodbye to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Naomi. Likewise The Flash was renewed for a ninth and final season, and on Halloween Day we learned Stargirl had become yet another superhero casualty.
Renewed for a third season expected in 2023, Superman and Lois is the only live-action DC superhero show airing on The CW to not have an officially announced end date.
Whether or not Javicia Leslie has a future in the MCU, her time in the Arrowverse actually isn’t done. While she apparently won’t be playing Batwoman, Leslie has been cast in a mystery role for the final season of The Flash. She also has a number of movie appearances on the way, including the romantic comedy Something from Tiffany’s and the mystery thriller Double Life.
