The Moo Deng livestream should bring great joy to any Moo Deng superfans who can’t make the pilgrimage to Thailand to see her in person.

Moo Deng wowed millions of social media users with her expressive face, energetic playfulness, and positively adorable attitude. Her name, which translates to “bouncy pig” has become synonymous with the Open Zoo, where staff have found themselves inundated with new visitors clad in Moo Deng hats, shirts, and other homemade merchandise.

Though many zoos tend to boost their relevance with the reveal of new baby animals, the Moo Deng livestream seems to prove that the sensation surrounding this pygmy hippo is unlike any other.

Most Moo Deng videos display the creature throwing what can only be described as adorable little temper tantrums, as she continues embodying the spirit of a Brat summer.

The Moo Deng livestream should bring great joy to any Moo Deng superfans who can’t make the pilgrimage to Thailand to see her in person. Social media has been flooded with thousands of videos of the baby pygmy hippo from guests and employees of the park alike. These videos include several viral hits which display her chomping playfully on a zookeeper’s knee, chewing food to imitate her mother, and receiving a bath from a hose.

Park staff are currently in the process of desensitizing Moo Deng to human touch, as a means to ensure that she will accept basic acts of care and feeding from her human counterparts as she becomes older and significantly stronger.

As a result of these interactions, most Moo Deng videos display the creature throwing what can only be described as adorable little temper tantrums, as she continues embodying the spirit of a Brat summer.

Long before the Moo Deng livestream was announced, the hippo had already captivated crowds from all over Thailand, as People reports more than 4,000 daily visitors have been flocking to the hippo pen since her recent birth.

Last weekend, the Khao Kheow Open Zoo recorded over 10,000 visitors, prompting employees to place a 5 minute maximum view time at the best vantage points for Moo Deng, in order to prevent overcrowding. At this time, her schedule consists mostly of playing with zookeepers, long naps, and only 1 hour of front-and-center public viewing, starting at roughly 2 pm.

While the Moo Deng livestream will surely be seen by millions of fans, it will also help us to learn more about pygmy hippo populations, which are currently critically endangered. World wildlife organizations estimate that there are fewer than 3,000 pygmy’s left in the world, meaning Moo Deng’s status as a cultural icon could raise tons of awareness for a worthy cause.
