Amber Heard Breaks Silence After Johnny Depp Trial
Amber Heard, living in Madrid, tells fans she's moving on with her life.
Amber Heard is ready to move on and live her life in Spain, as the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom actress says, “I move on, and “That’s life,” breaking a long period of silence after the Johnny Depp defamation verdict. On TikTok, Heard can be seen answering some questions from a reporter in Madrid about her new living situation. Speaking Spanish, she confirms her intention to stay in Madrid for the foreseeable future and has some movie projects lined up.
It’s certainly not surprising that both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are ready to move on and relax after what was a very public and very-drawn out legal battle. It was revealed in December that both parties agreed to a settlement and wouldn’t be appealing the verdict of the Virginia defamation trial. Recently, Depp made his big-screen comeback in the French-language film Jeanne Du Barry, where he received a standing ovation after the Cannes Film Festival screening.
As for Amber Heard, we’ll be seeing her return to the big screen when the delayed Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom finally comes to theaters on December 20. Although there were rumors during the trial that Heard wouldn’t be in the film, those rumors were debunked, and it appears she’ll be a major part of the movie as originally planned. This will be Heard’s second DC appearance as Mera after starring in Aquaman.
Along with Amber Heard, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom stars Jason Momoa as the titular superhero, along with a supporting cast that includes Ben Affleck’s Batman, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Dolph Lundgren, Temeura Morrison, Nicole Kidman, Jani Zhao, Pilou Asbaek, Randall Park, Vincent Regan, and Indya Moore. James Wan returns to direct with a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson McGoldrick, Mort Weisinger, and Paul Norris. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is also the last movie in the DCEU storyline to come out before James Gunn‘s DCU officially kicks off with Superman Legacy, so it’ll be interesting to see how that plays out.
It will also be interesting to see if Amber Heard and the rest of the cast of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom continue to factor into the DCU in the future. While we know for a fact stars like Henry Cavill have been axed, Jason Momoa’s future as Aquaman remains relatively uncertain. If Gunn and Safran decide to keep Momoa on, it seems likely that they might bring the rest of Aquaman’s friends and enemies into the DCU era as well.
It’s possible those questions will be answered with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, so for now, all we can do is speculate. It’s also interesting to hear that Amber Heard has other film projects on the way, and we’ll likely have to wait to hear more about those too. The only upcoming projects listed on her IMDb are Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and the thriller In the Fire. There’s no official release date for In the Fire, but it is in post-production, so there will likely be some update soon.
