Guardians Of The Galaxy Nova Corps Production T-Shirt
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is currently in production in London, and only two weeks left on the shooting schedule. While some set and location photos have leaked, the a majority of images from the film have come from the filmmakers themselves. It seems that director James Gunn is taking a few cues from Gareth Edwards when it comes to using social media outlets like Twitter and Instagram to share what’s going on with fans. The latest is an awesome Nova Corps t-shirt that was given to every member of the production crew. How long do you think it’s going to be before one of these shirts pops up on eBay?
According to Guard The Galaxy, one of the film’s crew posted the image on Instagram, but has recently taken it down. The production gift features the Nova Corps logo and their home planet of Xander. Hopefully the crew member didn’t get into too much trouble for sharing the Nova Corps t-shirt with their followers.
Additionally, UK photographer James Beddoes recently took production stills of two of the film’s villains, Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Ronan The Accuser (Lee Pace). Though he didn’t post the images online, he does describe the character’s costumes on his Instagram account. “Can’t believe I just got to look at official production still from guardians of the galaxy of Ronan and Nebula,” the caption reads. “I can’t describe how cool they look and how much it made my day! The costumes look so amazing, Lee Pace is going to be amazing as Ronan, he looks even cooler then Thanos did in Avengers!”
Upon request, Beddoes went on to break down Ronan’s look: “He has a lot of prosthetics on his forehead & chin but you can tell it’s his face, his skin is a similar blue color to Mystique in the X-men films!” I wonder if the Nebula character will be just as risqué and sexually suggestive as Rebecca Romijn and Jennifer Lawrence’s portrayal of the shape-shifting mutant.
Meanwhile, Michael Rooker also took to Twitter to talk about the upcoming Marvel movie. Although he didn’t reveal any plot details, Rooker tweeted about the process of playing the Centaurian Yondu Udonta. It apparently takes makeup artists an hour and a half to cover his body in blue paint.
With only 14 days left on Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s only a matter of time before Marvel releases some photos and full character descriptions. It’s also seems likely that the film’s first teaser trailer could be released before screenings of Thor: The Dark World, which opens in theaters on November 8.
According to Gunn the story of Guardians of the Galaxy follows “a U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants.” In addition to Pace, Gillan, and Rooker, the film also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Benicio del Toro, Djimon Hounsou, Olivia Lovibond, John C. Reilly Rhomann Dey, and Glenn Close.
Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters everywhere on August 1, 2014.
