Andor Season 2 Bringing Back Fan-Favorite Star Wars Movie Actor?
If you’re a Star Wars super fan, you may have already heard about the upcoming 2025 Star Wars Celebration event being held in Japan. As the springtime rapidly grows nearer, organizers for the event have begun to confirm and announce a wide array of new panels packed with talent for fans to look forward to. Per a report in Star Wars News Net, a number of legacy actors have been tapped to run a panel on Andor Season 2, including fan favorite Star Wars performer Mads Mikkelsen, sparking theories that the celebrated actor may soon have a role on the Disney+ series.
Mads Mikkelsen And More
A number of popular Star Wars alumni are set to appear at the event to promote Andor season 2, among other classic and upcoming properties. Those officially listed alongside Mads Mikkelsen include The Book of Boba Fett‘s Daniel Logan, and Temuera Morrison, The Acolyte‘s Manny Jacinto, C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels, and long-time Star Wars production designer Doug Chiang. Tickets to the event are already on sale and moving fast, especially as new events such as meet and greets and photo opportunities are established.
Helped Build And Destroy The Death Star
At this time, Andor season 2 has no official release date, though Disney reps have tentatively set the long-awaited installment for a spring release, which could coincide perfectly with the upcoming celebration. For those who don’t recall, Mads Mikkelsen made his first and so far only appearance in the galaxy far far away back in 2016, with the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In the film, Mikkelsen portrayed brilliant scientist and Death Star laser engineer Galen Erso, who tragically died after briefly reuniting with his daughter.
Alan Tudyk Returning In Andor Season 2
While Mikkelsen’s appearance at the Star Wars panel is interesting, it wouldn’t be eyebrow-raising enough on its own, as there are several other hints that seem to suggest that he’ll be reprising his role as Galen Erso in Andor season 2.
For starters, Mads Mikkelsen’s Rogue One co-star Alan Tudyk is confirmed to appear on the panel as well. Tudyk, who has reprised his voice role as imperial security droid K-2SO in multiple projects, including Secrets of the Empire and Lego Star Wars: All-Stars, is confirmed to be a major player in the forthcoming Andor season.
Getting Closer To The Original Trilogy
The first season of Andor takes place roughly five years before the events of Rogue One, meaning season 2 will be bringing us even closer to the timeline that sees Mads Mikkelsen attempting to desert the Death Star and flee to Lah’mu. As the show inches closer to the events of Rogue One and beyond, it only makes sense that the show would continue collecting fan-favorite characters from the 2016 film. Depending on how long Andor runs, it could even veer into the timeline of the original Star Wars trilogy.
Star Wars Celebration Day 2024
The Star Wars Celebration is currently scheduled to take place from April 18, 2025 through April 20 at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba, Japan. Those interested in attending may be swayed to buy tickets based on the promise that they’ll be the first to know for sure whether or not Mads Mikkelsen is confirmed to appear in Andor season 2. It would surely be a welcome surprise to most fans, since Mikkelsen has not popped up in a Star Wars project for nearly a decade.
