The Reason For Liam Payne’s Shocking Suicide Revealed?

By Chris Snellgrove | Published

The world was recently rocked by the death of popular One Direction band member Liam Payne. Things got even more shocking thanks to the revelation that the singer’s death, caused by falling from his hotel balcony, was a suicide rather than an accident. Everyone has been wondering why he did it, and there may now be a sad and disturbing answer: according to an inside source, Liam Payne was dropped by his music label only days before his tragic suicide.

From One Direction To Going Solo

Like other members of One Direction, Payne had launched a solo musical career and signed with Universal Music. Unfortunately, he was never as successful on his own as he was when he was part of his famous band. The source claims that Liam Payne was dropped by his label due to flagging sales and that this action preceded his suicide by only a few days.

The source was very blunt about Payne’s failing career and how it stacked up (or rather, didn’t stack up) against the solo careers of his former bandmates. “Liam’s advance was massive and he didn’t recoup it,” they said. “Out of all the One Direction boys, Liam was on the wrong path musically.”

Failed To Reach The Same Heights

Liam Payne launched his solo music career long before his suicide, signing with Capitol Records (owned by Universal Music) in 2016 after One Direction went on a surprising indefinite hiatus back in 2015. Hopes were high that his solo career would be a massive success, but his first album failed to impress, and the label ended up putting plans for his follow-up album on hold before dropping him altogether. Given that getting dropped immediately preceded his death, many think this may have motivated Liam Payne’s suicide, but other factors may have contributed to this awful tragedy.

Lost His Publicity Team

For example, the singer’s publicity team resigned earlier in October, which may have contributed to a feeling of career failure and a sense that others were turning their back on him. Perhaps most pressingly, he was also dealing with ongoing drama related to his ex-fiancée, Maya Henry.

Last week, she reportedly sent the musician a cease-and-desist letter. This led to reports that Liam Payne was feeling “overwhelmed by all of the legal issues” related to this matter before he committed suicide.

Accusations From His Ex

When Henry recently appeared on The Internet Is Dead podcast, she claimed that Payne weaponized his mental health issues as a “manipulation tactic” to keep her talking to him. She said that he would frequently send her post-breakup messages where he “would play with death,” telling her, “Well, I’m going to die, I’m not doing well.” Liam Payne’s recent suicide would seemingly validate what he told her and in a truly spooky twist, Henry actually wrote about someone falling off a balcony in Looking Forward, her recent book that took its inspiration from her life and experiences.

Relapse

The last potential factor potentially influencing Liam Payne’s suicide was, allegedly, drugs and alcohol. He began trashing his hotel room so thoroughly before his death that the hotel manager contacted emergency services, telling them that he was destroying his room and was “allegedly high and drunk.” The manager requested they send help very soon because he feared for the singer’s life, but nobody arrived in time to save him.

Leaves Behind A Legion Of Fans

While there have been plenty of musical scandals lately (many of them involving Diddy), news about Liam Payne’s suicide still feels very unreal. It seems like he might have been crying for help in many ways before his death, and we can’t help but wonder if it might have been possible to save his life. And like his many fans all around the world, we will do our best to keep Payne’s memory alive by listening to his music and honoring his memory in the wake of this tragedy.
