Brad Pitt Celebrates Victory Over Angelina Jolie Divorce Proceedings
Hollywood mega-star Brad Pitt scored a major personal win against his estranged wife, Angelina Jolie, in divorce court. While the divorce contest is far from over, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star is celebrating the judge’s ruling that an old FBI file from an alleged abuse case remain sealed, despite Jolie’s efforts to get the details made public. The file stems from a 2016 incident on a private plane where Jolie accused Pitt of being physically and mentally abusive toward her and their children.
The FBI Investigation
After the plane ride in question, Angelina Jolie filed charges against Brad Pitt about the alleged abuse. The complaints were investigated by both the FBI and the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services but were soon brought to a close without any charges filed against the actor. Jolie didn’t take this lying down and sprung into action, suing the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice so that the dirty details of the alleged assault could be made public.
The Ongoing Legal Battles
With the judge ruling that the FBI file shall remain closed, Brad Pitt is seemingly victorious over soon-to-be-ex Angelina Jolie. However, many parts of her story have come to light via a separate lawsuit regarding the French estate and winery the couple co-owns. In that suit, Jolie details the plane incident and paints her estranged husband in a bad light.
Two Different Stories
Angelina Jolie asserts that Brad Pitt poured beer all over her and several of their children who were on board the aircraft. She also accused Pitt of choking one of their children and hitting yet another one in the face. Pitt is also being accused of grabbing his wife by her head and shaking her, then seizing her by the shoulders and shoving her forcefully into the wall of the airplane’s bathroom.
Brad Pitt has denied these accusations as the court battles continue. Angelina Jolie stated in a 2021 interview that the violence aboard the plane was not the first time that she suffered abuse at the hands of her husband.
One Of Hollywood’s Favorite Couples
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a long and storied history that stems back more than 20 years since the pair first met in 2003 while co-starring in the action hit Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005). Though Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time, his relationship with his new co-star soon blossomed into a romantic relationship. The Hollywood power couple spent years together before officially tying the knot in 2014.
Their Kids Have Picked A Side
But wedded bliss wasn’t in the cards for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The actress filed for divorce in 2016, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The couple has six children together, three biological and three adopted. As the years passed since their mother filed for divorce, several of the children publicly made derogatory statements against the Wolfs star, with three of them going as far as dropping “Pitt” from their surnames.
Brad Pitt has maintained that Angelina Jolie has worked to “poison” their children against him, hence the recent social media postings where his son Pax referred to the actor as a “f*cking awful human.”
