The Brady Bunch Kids All Hooked Up According To Star

Despite portraying siblings on one of the most recognizable sitcoms of all time, one of the stars of The Brady Bunch says that the show’s kids “all hooked up” at one point or another. Barry Williams, who portrayed eldest son Greg Brady on the show, recently revealed that the cast got to know one another especially well throughout the show’s five-season run, eventually leading to relationships blossoming, some of which occurred well after the show was canceled.

Barry Williams Says All The Kids Were Hooking Up

On September 26, The Brady Bunch celebrated the 55th anniversary of its debut, prompting Williams to reflect on his time on the show and the behind-the-scenes action that perhaps flew a bit under the radar at the time. While speaking to US Weekly, the 69-year-old actor admitted that being in such close proximity to each other on set created a flurry of crushes to occur, leading to the Brady Bunch kids to begin to take a real liking to each other at one point or another. “We all hooked up with each other at some point,” Williams said. “Not necessarily while we were filming.”

Who Was With Who?

According to Williams, the Brady Bunch kids all seemed to hook up in accordance with their similarly-aged counterparts. White says that he and Maureen McCormick, who portrayed eldest daughter Marcia Brady on the show, were involved with each other for a stretch of time.

Not to be outdone, the middle children Peter (Chris Knight) and Jan (Eve Plum) had their own fling while the youngest siblings Bobby Michael Lookinland and Cindy (Susan Olsen) also matched up, even holding a mock wedding at one point.

Took His On-Screen Mom Out On A Date

However, the romance wasn’t strictly limited to just the kids on The Brady Bunch, with Williams admitting to a “teenage crush” he had on co-star Florence Henderson, who portrayed Williams’ fictional mother Carol Brady on the show.

At the time of the show’s filming, Henderson was in her mid-to-late 30s, while Williams remained in his teen years for the majority of the show’s run. Noting how much he admired Henderson’s personality and sense of humor, Williams reveals that he even asked out his fictional mother on a date to see a singer in Beverly Hills, to which she surprisingly said yes.

As the eldest actor among the Brady Bunch kids, Williams used his date as an attempt to pick Henderson’s brain regarding her experience as an actor, which he says was an opportunity to grow as an actor. Williams recalls that the amount of attention that the two of them received during the date was obvious, but never to the point of scaring them away.

“We were recognized, and so people were whispering about us, which is strange, but we talked about the singer, his orchestrations, the band that he had, and what touring was like,” Williams said.

Learned A Lot From Florence Henderson

By the end of the date, Williams believes that he learned a lot about what he could expect as he progressed his career and what life would like for him as he continued to grow up, all thanks to Henderson. When speaking about how the two actors parted ways after the date, Williams remained modest. “I did go in for a little kiss… and she was nice enough to return it,” he said. “So it was a highlight. Nice little peck, yes.”

Even with all of the swirling romance among the Brady Bunch kids, Williams continued to date outside of his TV family until his first marriage in 1990 to Diane Martin, which lasted just two years. Williams would then go on to marry his second wife Eila Mary Matt in 1999, making it to 2005 before the couple filed for divorce. Since 2017, Williams has been married to Tina Mahina, making it his longest-lasting marriage to date.
