Diddy Involved In Firebomb Attack On Another Rapper?

By Jacob VanGundy | Published

The legal case against rapper and music magnate Sean “Diddy” Combs has drawn attention to another incident, the bombing of rapper Kid Cudi’s car. As part of an attempt to demonstrate a pattern of abuse and violence, the prosecution submitted a letter alluding to Combs’ involvement in a car bombing. With many of the details lining up, it’s believed the bombing was part of an altercation between the two popular rappers.

Connection To The Kid Cudi Firebomb Incident

The letter that seems to accuse Diddy of bombing Kid Cudi is part of the racketeering and sex trafficking case against Combs. He is accused of coercing, abusing, and blackmailing multiple victims into participating in live sex acts he directed called Freak Offs. In order to establish the rapper is capable of such horrific acts, the prosecution submitted a letter listing past behavior they think demonstrates a pattern of violence.

The letter listed multiple accusations, but the claim that he either directly or indirectly firebombed a convertible in 2011 has drawn speculation. It’s believed that the letter is alluding to Diddy bombing Kid Cudi, who had his convertible blown up outside his home around that time. With the car owner listed only as “Individual-1” in the letter, a previous legal battle may be the key to understanding whose car was bombed and why.

Cassie’s Lawsuit

In 2023, the singer Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy for physical and sexual abuse, claiming he firebombed Kid Cudi’s car and held him hostage in a jealous rage. Cassie, who had been romantically involved with both rappers, brought the incident into the public light as part of her own story of abuse and exploitation. She also brought attention to the Freak Offs, which are now central to the criminal case against Combs.

The lawsuit between Cassie and Diddy was settled shortly after it was filed, but the story about Kid Cudi’s car may still damage his current legal case. According to Cassie’s version of events, Combs discovered her relationship with the other rapper and destroyed his car in retaliation. She also claims he held the other man at gunpoint, briefly kidnapping and threatening him.

Diddy Denies Everything

While Diddy has denied these accusations, Kid Cudi has confirmed Cassie’s story in the past without offering further details. Pointing to the fact the case was settled out of court, Combs claims there’s no real proof he was involved in the car bombing. It will be interesting to see where the court lands on the incident, which is only indirectly related to the criminal charges against Combs.

The Charges Pile Up

The charges and accusations against Diddy have piled up, with the Kid Cudi bombing being a small part of the larger legal story. In addition to the criminal charges against Combs, a new lawsuit was filed against him earlier this week by a woman claiming he drugged and raped her. With Cassie’s lawsuit not even a year ago, the rapper’s life has turned into a real-world legal drama

More News To Come

For some, the accusation that Diddy bombed Kid Cudi’s car is old news, but for many, the incident was swept under the rug until the criminal case against the music magnate. Now, with so much attention on his past behavior, the incident stands out. It almost certainly won’t be the last major story to come out of the celebrity criminal case.
