Katt Williams Was Right About P. Diddy And The Year Of Exposure
In January, comedian Katt Williams was a guest on former NFL superstar Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, Club Shay-Shay, and like both Kim Kardashian and Ralph, he broke the internet. Williams took aim at everyone, from Family Feud host Steve Harvey to P. Diddy, going so far as to make the grandiose claim that “all of these…deviants will be catching hell in 2024.” Fast-forward to September, and he’s been right about everything: 2024 has been the year of exposure.
Truth Bombs
On the morning of the Club Shay-Shay podcast recording, Katt Williams woke up and chose violence, saying publicly, “It don’t matter if you Diddy or whoever you is. T.D. Jakes — any of them. All lies will be exposed.” Williams lumped P. Diddy in with R. Kelly, who’s currently serving time in prison for his crimes, and now, following his arrest at the hands of the Department of Justice, Diddy is left waiting for his trial. That hasn’t stopped internet sleuths from finding incriminating videos or the music industry mogul’s former associates from speaking out, and just as Williams promised, the exposure is happening.
The Rise Of Kevin Hart
Kevin Hart was also a target of Katt Williams, with what, at the time, may have come off as a petty line of attack, but since then, the public has caught themselves and slowly nodding along, starting to think that Williams was right: “In 15 years in Hollywood, no one in Hollywood has a memory of a sold-out Kevin Hart show, there being a line for him, ever getting a standing ovation at any comedy club. He already had his deals when he got here.”
The Hart-Diddy Connection
It’s true that Kevin Hart seemed to come out of nowhere and was immediately a favorite of studio executives, but since William’s interview, Hart’s involvement with P. Diddy has come to light, and it doesn’t look good for the Borderlands star. A video surfaced of Hart acting as a host for one of Diddy’s “freak outs,” even laughing as a scantily-clad woman’s hair caught on fire, and this has led everyone to wonder, what else is out there?
Is Williams right? Did Hart get a leg-up in Hollywood because he was willing to go along with Diddy? Who knows what other deviant Hollywood bigwigs there are?
Mo’Nique’s Career Sabotage
I’ll admit, when I first came across Katt Williams’s interview, I was a little shocked, but I took everything with a grain of salt. After all, Williams wasn’t just going after the obvious targets like P. Diddy, Kanye West, and R. Kelly; he even accused Oprah and Tyler Perry of holding back Mo’Nique’s career. Well, a few days after the interview, Mo’Nique went on Club Shay Shay and confirmed everything.
It’s easy to forget now, over a decade later, but when Mo’Nique won the Oscar for her role in Precious, she was a star on the rise and had just broken through in Hollywood after years of hard work, and yet, the roles dried up. She had The Mo’Nique Show, but no major studio was casting her in films, which seems a little strange, but if Katt Williams and her are right about being blackballed by Oprah and Tyler Perry, all of a sudden it makes sense.
Who’s Next?
With Katt Williams turning out to be right about P. Diddy and Kevin Hart, and even getting social media sleuths to discover a few nuggets of truth to the accusations of Steve Harvey stealing jokes from other comedians, what else is going to turn out to be true this year? I think that Williams decision to name-drop pastor T.D. Jakes, alongside Diddy, is a clue, and there have already been associates of the rap mogul that claim Jakes allegedly was at Diddy’s parties. Frequent party attendees include Ashton Kutcher, Jay-Z, Lindsay Lohan, Tyrese, Travis Scott, and Mary J. Blige.
I have to apologize to Katt Williams for not believing him at the time, as now I’m left wondering what else Katt Williams knows, and how much more is coming out during the year of exposure? Who is going to be the next major name to be caught up in the wake of P. Diddy’s arrest now that both Kevin Hart and Usher are facing fresh scrutiny?
