The fall season is the time for stories about monsters and villains, which is why it’s perfect for the release of A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School. While this anime isn’t necessarily scary, there are dozens of different monsters and creatures that will fit right in for Halloween. The series is set to air in Japan on October 8.

The Perfect Spooky Season Anime

A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School! is set to release its first episode on October 8, 2024. The series is already set up to run for a total of two cours, making the first season around 24 episodes long. The cours are meant to be continuous, which means they’ll likely air back-to-back with only a small break between them.

The Rising Star Voice Talent

In addition to information about the release day for A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School, two new cast members were also announced. The first is Akira Takano (Sono Toki), who will be voicing Rensuke Nyuudou. The other is Shota Aoi (Ace of Diamonds), who will be voicing Akira Takahashi.

In addition to these two cast members, others have been announced previously, including Ryouta Oosaka (Strike the Blood) as Haruaki Abe, Ryouta Suzuki (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) as Mikoto Sano, emerging voice actor Reo Tanie as Mamekichi Maizuka, and Taito Ban (Sugar Apple Fairy Tale) as Hijita Koutarou.

Studio Satelight (Hellsing Ultimate) is in charge of A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School!, with Katsumi Ono (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s) directing the series. Deko Akao (Noragami) is in charge of the series composition, and new artist Natsuki is handling the character designs.

The Strangest Class

The announcement also revealed a new key visual. The image shows Abe hiding under a desk, surrounded by his other students. Alongside several that could pass as students, some are much more wild in their appearance, including a half-cat, half-boy mix, a cyclops, a skeleton, and a mummy.

Back in July, a promotional video was released as well, showing some funny scenes from the series, and a more in-depth look at the teachers and the students. You can also get an idea of some of the pranks Abe finds himself immersed in when he starts interacting with his students.

The Manga Is Ongoing

A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School centers around a school filled with students, just like any other school, except these children are literal monsters. For some, this might not be a problem, but for the cowardly new teacher, Haruaki Abe, this is more than a problem. His students take advantage of his fears to prank and torment him whenever possible while he tries to ensure they are properly educated.

The series is classified as a mix of the fantasy, horror, and comedy genres. A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School was originally written by Mai Tanaka. It was first started in 2014 and is still ongoing, with a total of 16 volumes as of August 2024.

No International Streaming Service Yet

A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School will air in Japan in Tokyo MX with later broadcasts on Asahi Broadcasting Corporation and BS Asahi on October 9 and October 13, respectively. There’s no information yet on where the series will air for international fans or at what date. Whether or not it’s coming to a streaming service is also unknown at this time.
