Netflix’s Biggest Star Gets Married To Rock Star Progeny
It may seem wild to so many of us who have watched her grow up right in front of our eyes but Stranger Things star, Millie Bobby Brown, is officially married. The actress has been engaged to Jon Bon Jovi’s son, Jake Bongiovi, since last April and the pair secretly carried out their plans over Memorial Day weekend. The secret was kept safe by just a few family members and close friends invited which included both of Brown’s parents as well as Bongiovi’s famous rockstar dad and mother, Dorothea Bongiovi.
The Relationship
Describing their relationship as a slow burn from friendship to romance, Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi have been in the public eye since 2021, with the rumors surrounding their relationship solidified after the pair were seen holding hands in New York City the following year.
Firmly attached at the hip, they’ve attended a slew of events together including the Season 4 premiere of Stranger Things and the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards.
Confirming the seriousness of where she saw her relationship with Bongiovi going, Millie Bobby Brown referred to her beau as her “partner for life” in 2023 with an engagement taking off shortly thereafter.
Public Scrutiny
From the very moment the happy couple announced their plans to be married, they were under scrutiny from the media and complete strangers, largely due to their ages. Millie Bobby Brown is 20 and Jake Bongiovi is 22, leading many to believe the love birds were rushing into things.
But, both sides have had their family members come to bat for them, with Jon Bon Jovi being an outspoken advocate and pouring his trust into his son and daughter-in-law to make the decision that feels right for them.
A Smart Move
It’s been more than a year since the couple got engaged and, because Millie Bobby Brown has been happy to talk about her wedding, we’ve known that the ceremony was just around the corner.
If there’s one thing to be said for the pair and their families, it’s that they can keep a secret as no one was the wiser about the secret wedding over the weekend. Now that the papers are signed and the marriage is official, Brown and Bongiovi say they plan to have a bigger party with a larger crowd down the line.
But, if you want our opinion, this was the perfect way to do things to keep the paparazzi out of their special day.
Brown’s Rise
Although she appeared in a handful of productions prior to 2016, it was her role as the mysterious Eleven in Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things that would launch Millie Bobby Brown to superstardom.
The actress was just a teenager when the hype behind the Duffer Brothers’ retro sci-fi series came to a fever pitch and, like many of the other young cast members, was thrown into the spotlight.
With Stranger Things coming to an end following its upcoming fifth season, the door is left wide open for Brown to delve into other projects and genres as one of the most sought-after rising stars in Hollywood.
Brown’s Other Work
While fans wait for the return of Mike, Eleven, and the rest of the gang in Stranger Things Season 5, Millie Bobby Brown can be seen in other Netflix productions including the Enola Holmes film series and Damsel.
This year, she’ll also welcome the release of the feature-length production, The Electric State, which lands on Netflix courtesy of the Russo Brothers.
