Suicide Squad Anime Shows Off Bloody Action That Rivals Live-Action
The infamous Suicide Squad will soon have its own anime series titled Suicide Squad Isekai, produced by Studio Wit and Warner Bros. media. The most recent version of the criminal alliance has Harley Quinn and Deadshot leading the way, with The Joker, Peacemaker, King Shark, and Clayface accompanying them.
Though the new Suicide Squad Isekai anime has yet to officially be released to the public, a new trailer release has fans of the franchise excited for what’s to come. The trailer also shows that the action and bloody imagery in the anime may give the live-action movies a run for their money.
The pressure is on, and the potential is present for Suicide Squad Isekai to be a real treat to DC fans.
The Suicide Squad Isekai anime snippet shows plenty of occurrences where King Shark is violently ripping an enemy to shreds. You also see Peacemaker in a closeup with a menacing grin and a face dripping with blood. Deadshot shoots up a gang of werewolves, and Harley Quinn is a clear fan of the violence utilizing rocks, bats, or anything she can get her hands on to do damage to her foes.
The Suicide Squad Isekai anime will begin with Harley Quinn and The Joker causing chaos around the city before being locked up. Amanda Waller then recruits King Shark and the rest of the motley crew for an impossible mission, regardless of their willingness to participate.

The new Suicide Squad anime takes it back to the old days when the criminals all had explosive devices implanted in their necks. If the mission fails or if they try to stray from their objective, the bomb goes off and kills them instantly. For those who aren’t aware of the “isekai” addition to the title, the word alludes to a fantasy sub-genre in the world of anime where characters are somehow transported to another world. The mission in Suicide Squad Isekai sends the crew to a fantasy world riddled with magic and war.
The squad has three days to somehow liberate the magical kingdom and end the war before their implants explode and swiftly end their lives. The pressure is on, and the potential is present for Suicide Squad Isekai to be a real treat to DC and anime fans.

Eri Osada directs the new Suicide Squad Isekai anime series. The series composition and screenplay were constructed by Tappei Nagatsuki (author of Re:ZERO) and Eiji Umehara (Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us). Anna Nagase (Ushio from Summertime Rendering) voices Harley Quinn, Reigo Yamaguchi (Ghost in the Shell) is Deadshot, and Takehito Koyasu (DIO from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures and a long list of other movies, shows, and games) is the voice of Peacemaker. The long list of talent on the roster for the new anime is enough to bring fans to the table for sure.
Suicide Squad Isekai is set to premiere to Japanese audiences this summer, July 2024, on Tokyo MX and BS11, before rolling out to anime fans worldwide. So far, the talk of social media shows that viewers are excited to see Takehito Koyasu’s voice Peacemaker and hope to see an array of gory scenes throughout the show.
