Netflix Live Event Is Going To Be Disaster We Can’t Look Away From
As Netflix continues to explore the viewing potential of live-streaming sports events, they’re gearing up to host the boxing match to end all boxing matches: 27-year-old Jake Paul versus former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.
Available to all Netflix subscribers on July 20, the match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will be hosted at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. In a fight that transcends generations, we’ll bear witness to what Tyson refers to as a match between an ambitious kid who has become quite the fighter over the past few years, and himself, who he refers to as the GOAT.

Though it sounds like a joke that a former YouTube prankster turned professional boxer stands a chance against one of the most notorious figures to step foot in a boxing ring, it’s worth noting that Jake Paul went pro in 2020, and founded his own boxing promotion company called Most Valuable Promotions back in 2021.
Iron Mike, who retired from the sport in 2005, may have slowed down a little bit with age, but he’s still quick on his feet and excited about the challenge. Delivering a playful jab at his opponent, Tyson stated that he helped Paul start his career, and ominously suggested that now he has a chance to “finish him.”

The multi-faceted Jake Paul has made quite the name for himself as a professional boxer, having secured nine wins against one loss since he went pro in 2020. Though it’s clear that Mike Tyson is an absolute legend, it’s worth noting that he’s mellowed out over the years and has adopted a media persona that can be considered quite mellow compared to when he was actively training every single day.
Jake Paul, on the other hand, is an up-and-comer who is trying to make a name for himself as a worthy contender in the professional boxing circuit. It will be interesting to see how the two will pit against each other in the square circle when you consider their age, size, and current training regimens.

At this point in his career, Mike Tyson doesn’t have to prove himself to anyone because his boxing record is impeccable. Even in retirement, Tyson has demonstrated that he’s still a force to be reckoned with, as you can take Tyson out of boxing, but you’ll never be able to take boxing out of Tyson. There are enough videos floating around on YouTube in which the legend himself demonstrates how quickly he can throw jabs and maneuver at the age of 57.
