Pedro Pascal Injury Delaying The Last Of Us Season 2?
While we’ve known for a while that Pedro Pascal has a certain stance with his arm against his stomach to ease his red-carpet anxiety, the actor was posing in the same manner but for a very different reason at the Golden Globes. Dressed as dapper as always, the Game of Thrones star was wearing a sling, holding his arm fixed in that anti-anxiety position. Revealing that he sustained the injury after a fall, as of right now, The Last of Us Season 2 is still set to begin production in February.
Yes, we were all concerned for the internet’s zaddy after he appeared at the award show with his injury but we’d be lying if we said that the possible slowdown of The Last of Us didn’t cross our mind. It’s been a year since the first season of the Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey-led series graced our screens courtesy of HBO and many of us have been waiting for news surrounding the second season.
Like many other Hollywood productions, Season 2 of The Last of Us was already slowed down by the writers’ and actors’ strike, but when both came to an end during the last months of 2023, it seemed things were up and running. And then Pedro Pascal had to go and slip and end up in a sling. But, thankfully (for many reasons) it seems like the actor will be able to pick up with his long list of obligations in no time.

As for the sophomore installment of The Last of Us, along with Pedro Pascal reprising his role as Joel, Bella Ramsey will also be back to play Ellie. Exciting casting news came out just a few days ago that No One Will Save You and Booksmart star Kaitlyn Dever would be playing Abby, giving those who played the video game (or have read spoilers) an idea of the drama to unfold in the next batch of episodes.
Aside from the introduction to Dever’s character, it’s unclear where the creative team will take the series, they’ll at least follow pieces of the game’s storyline.
When we last left off with Ellie and Joel, the pair had completed their mission of getting Ellie to the Fireflies but, upon realizing what this meant for his young companion, Joel freed Ellie (without her knowledge) and fled. Now traveling back to Jackson, Wyoming to meet up with Joel’s brother, Tommy (Gabriel Luna), there’s a certain level of untrust between the traveling duo depicted masterfully between Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal’s performances in the finale’s final seconds.

Aside from the imminent filming of The Last of Us, Pedro Pascal is also incredibly busy with a handful of other major projects. The last few years have launched the actor to being one of the most highly sought-after names in the business, meaning that he has quite a few titles on his docket. Included are Freaky Tales, Drive-Away Dolls, Gladiator 2, Tropico, and The Uninvited.
Possibly joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Pedro Pascal is also being eyed as the choice name to play Reed Richards in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. Seeing as how the actor has already taken the Star Wars universe by storm in The Mandalorian, adding the MCU to his list of credits would be the next perfect move.
Feel better, Pedro!
