90210’s Ian Ziering Fights An Entire Biker Gang Solo, Caught On Video In The LA Street
Why did 90210‘s Ian Ziering cross the road? To get away from the rabid gang of bikers chasing him! A video posted to X (formerly Twitter) yesterday showed the actor being accosted on New Year’s Eve by several motorists. The incident appears to be road-rage related.
The video shows the former 90210 star escaping from his car as several helmeted assailants start attacking him. The bikers and Ziering trade blows back and forth as the actor attempts to flee across a busy LA street. The riders chase after Ian on foot, punches and kicks flying the whole time.
Ziering, who played Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills 90210 for ten seasons, said that the incident left him “deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace.”
It’s certainly a bizarre way to start off 2024, but it gets weirder. The “bikers” were all riding minibikes—smaller than average motorbikes—adding a darkly surreal vibe to the assault. On top of that, all of the riders appear to be shorter than the six-foot 90210 heartthrob, lending an almost comical air to what is otherwise a horrifying encounter.
Not pictured in the video is Ziering’s 12-year-old daughter Mia, who was apparently present for the incident. The Sharknado star posted a video to Instagram the day after the attack, assuring his fans that he and Mia had suffered no major damage during the altercation. The star, who’s better known these days for the Sharknado films than 90210, claimed he was “stuck in traffic” when one of the mini bikers approached him “aggressively.”
Ziering remarked that the situation “highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets” and called for more law enforcement to combat the problem.
Ziering claimed he was just getting out of his car to see if it had been damaged when he was attacked. The gang apparently took the actor leaving his vehicle as a challenge and reacted violently. While the actor was able to hold his own for the most part, the encounter left him and Mia shaken.
Ziering, who played Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills 90210 for ten seasons, said that the incident left him “deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace.” While there is, of course, nothing funny about what happened to Ziering, interpreting his words literally to mean LA’s growing “mini-bike gang” problem makes it hard to take his statement seriously.

We can only assume that the 90210 star referred to the bikers as “hooligans” because he forgot how to spell rapscallion. Again, not to make light of the attack, but the use of such esoteric language makes the situation seem less dire than it actually is.
The actor urged city officials and law enforcement to “take decisive action against such lawlessness” and to put the “necessary resources” into preventing “future occurrences.” All of this again begs the question, are mini-bike gangs a bigger threat to public safety than we were aware of?
One would assume that if gangs of leather-clad scallywags were riding tiny motorcycles up and down the streets of Los Angeles assaulting random ’90s TV stars, it would be on the news or something.
The actor who returned for the 2019 Beverly Hills 90210 revival ended his Instagram statement by thanking his family, friends, and fans for supporting him during this dark time.
