Pete Davidson Restrained On-Set By Co-Stars After Confrontation
Pete Davidson is known for making audiences laugh. From Saturday Night Live to stand-up, he’s regularly delivering some of the best punchlines in the business. Now, however, it seems the star might be more interested in just delivering punches instead. On the set of his upcoming film Riff Raff, Davidson became belligerent with a pestering paparazzi, and he had to be held back from attacking the man before the star retreated to his trailer and completely trashed it.
“He’s obviously going through something right now and people are worried about him.”

At first glance, it’s relatively easy to sympathize with Pete Davidson in this matter. He didn’t immediately attack the man trying to photograph him. Instead, the comedian repeatedly asked the other man to leave them alone. Notably, the paparazzi in question had been effectively stalking the set for hours, and that would be enough to set anyone’s teeth on edge.
However, a source close to Pete Davidson made it clear that this angry reaction and subsequent set-trashing isn’t normal behavior for the Bodies Bodies Bodies star. The source claims that Davidson has been smoking plenty of marijuana and that “He’s obviously going through something right now and people are worried about him.”
With that being said, he is apparently much nicer to his castmates (including Bill Murray and Ed Harris), and the source is quick to note that Davidson is “a good guy and everyone likes him.”
Pete Davidson Cancels Upcoming Shows
If the incident with the peeping paparazzi wasn’t enough of a clue that something has been going on with Pete Davidson, the comedian also canceled several shows on his comedy tour, including some very last-minute cancellations.
For example, he was going to perform at New York City’s Beacon Theatre on Friday, December 22, but he canceled that show just hours before he was set to perform. The subsequent December 23 show at the same location was also canceled, and while the Beacon Theatre promised refunds for those affected, they did not provide any clarifying info on why the comedian had suddenly canceled.
Back in June, he checked himself into rehab to help deal with both PTSDP and BPD, so this could be a mitigating factor in his actions.
While those cancellations raised eyebrows because they happened at the last minute, they aren’t the only shows that Pete Davidson put on ice. He recently canceled shows in Georgia, Kentucky, Philadelphia, Texas, and Tennessee. Right now, he is on track to resume the tour in Mashantucket, Connecticut on January 6, but after all of these sudden cancellations, we imagine fans who have purchased tickets are simply hoping the show will go on.
Even if the show goes on, though, that’s no guarantee it will go smoothly. Whatever Pete Davidson has been going through hasn’t seemingly affected his performances on his comedy tour, but there was an incident last month where he went off on an audience member who had taken his cell phone out. Allegedly, Davidson told the fan, “F–k you”, had security escort the man out, and grumbled about how he “pays $10,000 to lock up [your phones]” before diving back into his set.
It’s unclear whether the current thing(s) stressing Pete Davidson out helped fuel that particular outburst or if he really was annoyed at someone ignoring the no-phone protocol. Back in June, he checked himself into rehab to help deal with both PTSDP and BPD, so this could be a mitigating factor in his actions. We join Davidson’s many fans around the world in hoping that he gets whatever help he might need and makes it through the stressful holiday season refreshed and ready to get back to doing what he does best.
