According to Geek Tyrant, Disney insiders have confirmed that a Nova movie is now officially in the works.
Nova Changes From A Disney+ Series To Movie
When Nova was first rumored to be an active project, fans thought that it would be a series made for Disney+. It turns out, the Marvel fanbase was half correct because the project was originally intended to be a series. But, now, according to Daniel Richtman, an industry insider, the project has swerved a hard right into becoming a full-fledged feature-length film.
Nova’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Connection
The news comes several years after rumors first surfaced about Marvel Studios developing a Nova project. However, the nature of the project has always been shrouded in mystery, leaving fans with no choice but to guess and speculate about when, what, and how. The recent revelation that Nova is being reimagined as a movie has stirred fresh excitement among fans, although details remain wrapped up, including whether or not Moon Knight’s Pirzada will remain on the project.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has previously acknowledged Nova’s potential within the MCU, emphasizing the character’s connection to the Guardians of the Galaxy universe. Feige stated, “Nova is… if we have a big board with a bunch of characters that have more immediate potential, Nova is on that board.” This revelation suggests that Nova’s introduction into the MCU has been a consideration for some time, with the character even making early appearances in drafts for Guardians of the Galaxy.
When To Expect The Nova Movie
While fans had assumed that Nova might make an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, that didn’t pan out. Who Is Nova?
Nova, introduced in 1966 in the Marvel comic fanzine Super Adventures, is a member of the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps. Possessing superhuman abilities, including enhanced strength, flight, and resistance to injury, Nova is a formidable force within the Marvel Comics universe. Notably, there are two versions of Nova in the comics: Richard Rider and Sam Alexander.
Two Characters
Richard Rider, an average teenager thrust into superhero responsibilities after receiving the Nova Force from dying Nova Prime Rhomann Dey, becomes the Human Rocket. On the other hand, Sam Alexander, a 15-year-old from Carefree, Arizona, discovers his father’s legacy as a Nova Corps member and takes up the mantle after donning his father’s helmet.
