Sean Combs Accused Of Horrendous Crime By Singer Cassie, Lawsuit Underway
Fresh off a host of headlines regarding his above-and-beyond Halloween costumes, as well as his first new studio album in nearly two decades, Sean Combs has been accused of sexual abuse and assault by American singer and songwriter Cassie.
Per a report in The NY Times, Sean Combs, best known by his many stage names such as P. Diddy, Puff Daddy, or Sean Love, has vehemently denied the allegations, which malign the famed hip hop producer as a perpetrator of controlled patterns of abuse. A suit has been filed in federal court regarding these charges, with more information sure to unfold in the coming weeks.
The suit, which was filed in Manhattan’s Federal District Court, claims that Sean Combs engaged in a long-form pattern of control, including both physical and emotional abuse over the course of a decade while romantically involved with Cassie. Cassie, whose government name is Casandra Ventura, signed to the label in 2005, and became romantically tied to Combs shortly thereafter, until her departure from Bad Boy in 2019.
According to the allegations made by Ventura, Sean Combs entered her home by force and sexually assaulted her in 2018, in the final days of their relationship. The pattern that Ventura claims Combs utilized to manipulate and control her included physically beating her, forcing her to take illicit narcotics, and forcing her to have sex with a number of men on camera against her will.
Sean Combs has yet to make a public statement regarding these allegations, though his legal team has assured the court that the label head vehemently denies the charges, claiming that Cassie has constructed a false narrative for financial purposes.
Sean Combs’ lawyers have presented a timeline to prosecutors which includes threats from Ms. Ventura to write a memoir damaging Combs’ reputation unless her $30 million demands are met, constituting blackmail. Of course, there is no way to confirm or deny these reports at this time, as both Cassie and Diddy have continued to hurl accusations at one another with reckless abandon.
In addition to her abuse suit, Cassie claims one of the reasons she has not come forward sooner is because she feared for the safety of her loved ones, even detailing a decade-old tale of Diddy dangling her friend from a 17th-floor balcony.
Sean Combs is best known as the producer and music mogul behind Bad Boy Records, standing beside such massive hip hop icons as The Notorious B.I.G., Janelle Monae, the LOX, DMX, and current Leader of the Opposition in the Belize House of Representatives, Shyne.
Sean Combs has been embroiled in a host of controversies in the past year, with inquiries regarding the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur listing Combs as a possible co-conspirator as well. Though Diddy’s career and legacy seemed to have taken a calmer and more business-forward approach from his street-wise days of handling business during the 2Pac and Biggie beef of the late 1990s, it seems the mogul’s long-standing career of shady business practices and closed-door deals may finally be catching up to him.
