Megan Thee Stallion Wins Halloween With Stunning Gremlins 2 Costume
The award for best Halloween costume goes to Megan Thee Stallion for her uncanny likeness of Greta from Gremlins 2: The New Batch. The Texas-born rapper posted several well-posed images of her in her costume on Instagram yesterday and even performed in the getup at the One MusicFest in Atlanta over the weekend.
The Hot Girl Summer rap artist displayed her stellar figure in a matching glittered silver and black leopard-patterned bralette and maxi shirt combination. Megan Thee Stallion was committed to smashing her appearance as Greta, as she had nearly her whole body covered in green and yellow paint to properly represent the skin of a gremlin.
Her green hair, her eye ridges, and even her gremlin ears were on point. Like Greta, Megan Thee Stallion made sure to display her long red fingernails and matching red lipstick as well. To top off her ensemble, the rap star completed her Halloween costume with a long pink feather boa before putting on a show with her best poses for social media.
If you’re not in the know about Greta, she was spawned as part of the “new batch” in the sequel to Gremlins that dropped in 1990. Greta was voiced by Joe Dante, and the particularly feisty girl gremlin (just as you would suspect Megan Thee Stallion would be) was well-known for attacking other gremlins when they attempted to hit on her.
You see, Greta was crazy in love with a human, Frank Forster (Robert Picardo). He worked at the Clam Center in the movie, and Greta was overtly clingy towards him. She would force her love and kisses upon him regularly, and Forster was initially disgusted with her advances. By the time the movie reaches its end, the human gives in to Greta’s admiration.
Megan Thee Stallion definitely nailed the image of Greta when she posted several poses in her costume on social media yesterday, but the rapper was already winning Halloween before the post dropped. Greta wasn’t her only excellent costume this year.
For her Hottieween party this year, Megan Thee Stallion arrived dressed as a flower from the Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland. She also made another social media post displaying her Halloween spirit in several poses dressed as Death The Kid.
Death The Kid is a character featured in the popular anime/manga series, Soul Eater. Megan Thee Stallion openly shares her love for anime and the ambition and drive of Death The Kid mirror her own energy.
The buzz stirred up around Megan Thee Stallion’s Halloween costumes stands to benefit the rapper in a big way. This Friday (November 3) marks the release of her first single since she officially parted ways with 1501 Entertainment. Her song titled Cobra will be the first single the rapper releases on her newly founded independent entertainment and music entity, Hot Girl Productions.
After a four-year legal battle with 1501 Entertainment, Megan Thee Stallion’s new album will be completely self-funded. After releasing her album Traumazine last year, the artist already has her eyes set on her next album release sometime next year.
