The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Trailer Shows How Rick Has Suffered
Thanks to New York City Comic Con, fans of The Walking Dead franchise are getting a slew of new information about the spin-offs that are in the works. Along with some very exciting news surrounding Season 2 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, attendees were treated to a new teaser for the Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne Grimes (Danai Gurira) spin-off, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Packed with action, heartbreak, and hope, the teaser gives us a fresh look at the story to come.
In the teaser for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, a roughed-up Rick Grimes can be seen planning his escape route. While coming to blows with walkers and other enemies, a voice-over can be heard of Rick begging Michonne to understand that he did everything in his power to make it back to her safely.
Along with Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira reprising their roles, Pollyanna McIntosh will return to her part as Jadis Stokes/Anne.
Coming in like a true baddie, katana and all, the clip also features Michonne back in action on the road to save her husband from any enemies – living or dead.
When we last saw Rick in the final episode of The Walking Dead (a moment that came as a surprise to audiences after the character’s departure in Season 9), he’s been discovered by CRM and taken into custody. Knowing that her husband is alive (and hopefully well), Michonne sets off to rescue him and bring him home. The moment left a very obvious spot open for a spin-off to take place, which AMC immediately jumped on.
Along with Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira reprising their roles, Pollyanna McIntosh will return to her part as Jadis Stokes/Anne. Also joining the cast of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will be Lesley-Ann Brandt, Terry O’Quinn, and Matt Jeffries. While no specific date has been set for the series premiere on AMC, the release window is set for February 2024.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will be the latest follow-up series to come from the post-apocalyptic universe. Following a successful eleven-season run on AMC, the network moved forward with a handful of offshoots that would see some of its most beloved characters in their own stories.

In early September, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon saw Norman Reedus return to his role as the titular zombie hunter, with the series premiere breaking viewership records for AMC and AMC+. The final episode of the first season airs this Sunday, with news coming to NYCC that the second season will feature the long-awaited reunion between Reedus’ Daryl Dixon and Melissa McBride’s Carol Peletier.
Titled, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol, the name suggests that Daryl’s bestie will take on a very important role in the series.
Though fellow spin-off series, Fear the Walking Dead may soon be wrapping after its eighth season, these new titles are promising to breathe new ideas, characters, and plots into the fan-favorite franchise.
