The Boys Getting Even More Spinoff Shows After Gen V
With class now in session in The Boys spin-off, Gen V, the franchise is celebrating a major success in viewership numbers by discussing the possibilities of more offshoots. According to ComicBook.com, Pavun Shetty (who serves as a producer on both projects) said that due to the sprawling nature of the original material, there are plenty of stories to “really capitalize on” with an array of interesting “characters to build upon.”
“We are really thinking about what the next show could be and how it can be thoughtful and fit into the universe and feel like it’s a puzzle piece that fits in with everything else, but is not just a show for show’s sake.”

Although, for now, the main focus is on the continued success of Gen V and getting Season 4 of The Boys finished and released, the news will certainly come as a bit of excitement for fans eager to watch other stories from the satirical superhero universe unfold.
Taking his job very seriously, Shetty said that he and the rest of the folks attached to The Boys and Gen V would only dive into another project if it were a quality one with a “real story to tell.” This means they won’t be making off-shoots just for the sake of continuing to bring audiences content but instead are dedicated to maintaining the quality that both shows are known for.
Referring to future installments as “a puzzle piece,” the producer notes that any other spin-offs would need to fit perfectly into the mold already formed by the Amazon Prime Video shows.
“We’re lucky that fans love the show so much and there’s real anticipation for Gen V, and there’s a lot of characters to build upon. There’s a lot of different areas from the books across time periods that we could really capitalize on. But, I think the most important thing for us there is that we are really diligent and thoughtful about what we do next.”

Kicking off what would become a celebrated franchise, The Boys first exploded onto Prime Video in 2019. Taking a stab at Marvel and The DC universes, places where (for the most part) those with superhuman capabilities help mankind, the series focuses on what it would really be like if superheroes walked among us, with the top dogs being run by a corporation. Based on the comic series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the show was an immediate hit with audiences.
Essentially, The Boys follows a ragtag group of vigilantes who have banded together to fight the nefarious Vought Industries and the corrupt superheroes (or supes) protected by the corporation. The series stars such names as Jack Quaid (Scream 2022), Karl Urban (Thor: Ragnarok), Antony Starr (Cobweb), Erin Moriarty (Marvel’s Jessica Jones), Jensen Ackles (Supernatural), Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Jessie T. Usher (Smile), and Laz Alonso (Avatar).
Gen V
Picking up the franchise and shining a light on another group living within The Boys universe, Gen V recently celebrated its premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Now four episodes in, with new installments airing on Fridays, the series follows a group of up-and-coming superheroes studying at the prestigious Godolkin University.
On top of their studies, the young adults are learning what it means to be a hero and are also discovering that there’s much more to the school and Vought than meets the eye.
Although Gen V isn’t the first spin-off of The Boys as the animated series, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, previously tickled audiences with its blood, gore, and crass language, it’s certainly proving that audiences are eager for more stories from the explosive universe.
