Spy x Family Anime Gets First Video Game Tie-In
Spy x Family is a wildly popular manga series that only became more popular with the anime adaptation by WitStudio and CloverWorks released in 2022. Now Bandai Namco Europe has announced that it will be developing the first video game tie-in for the franchise titled SPYxANYA: OPERATION MEMORIES. The game is set for a 2024 release and will be coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Spy x Family is one of the hottest new anime series, and now it’s getting a new video game focused on Anya.
As you might have guessed from the title, the video game will focus on the Spy X Family character Anya, an orphan with telepathic abilities adopted by Loid Forger to “build a family” as part of his undercover mission. Anya is a fan-favorite character, so it’s unsurprising that the video game will follow her antics. The Bandai Namco press release about the game also announced some of the things you can do as gameplay.
The video game will reportedly allow players to experience the world of Spy x Family through the eyes of Anya, as she is tasked to put together a photo diary as an assignment from Eden College. To complete the diary and achieve Anya’s objective, players will need to snap photos at different locales such as parks, beaches, aquariums, and more. When Anya is intrigued by something, players can snap a photo, and the good photos will be saved as her memories.
Along with the main photo diary objective, the Spy x Family video game will also feature over 15 mini-games that are inspired by the series. Mini-games announced so far include peanut-themed bowling and a type of rhythm-based game you can do with Yor. The mini-games will also allow players to unlock costumes and other items.

For further customization options, the Spy x Family video game allows players to customize the costumes of the whole Forger family and use the photo mode to take pictures of them. While the game doesn’t have an official release date outside of the 2024 window, Bandai Namco will surely announce one as the game gets closer to completion.

The series’ first season covered around six volumes of the original manga, so we should see the second season adapt the rest of the story. While the second season may be adapting the rest of the manga series, fans can also look forward to an upcoming movie titled Spy x Family Code: White.
