Jenna Ortega’s Forgotten Marvel Role Is Incredibly Important
The last few years have seen Jenna Ortega’s career absolutely blowing up. From her ongoing appearance in the Scream franchise to her highly praised performance as the titular Addams family member in Wednesday, fans can’t seem to get enough. Now, fans are talking about the star’s premiere performance in Marvel’s Iron Man 3, an important one for not only Ortega’s blossoming career but also for the film’s storyline.
In Iron Man 3, Jenna Ortega’s character has a disability and lost her leg, with the Vice President hoping that he can help his daughter with the aid of Aldrich Killian’s Extremis virus.
For a refresher, Jenna Ortega first joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the 2013 Shane Black (Lethal Weapon) helmed feature, Iron Man 3. At just 10 years old, Ortega added her name to the call sheet as the daughter of Vice President Rodriguez (Miguel Ferrer). One of the movie’s antagonists, the Vice President has teamed up with Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) to bring down the government and take things into their own hands.
But there’s more to Vice President Rodriguez’s alliance with Aldrich Killian than creating a new world order. In the film, Jenna Ortega’s character has a disability and lost her leg, with the Vice President hoping that he can help his daughter with the aid of Killian’s Extremis virus.
By the end of the Marvel film, the Vice President is arrested for his crimes against the country, with Ortega’s character playing a major role and lesson of the lengths a parent will go to to ensure their child’s safety.
One of the hottest names in Hollywood, Jenna Ortega has come a long way since her feature-length debut in the Marvel title. Raking in critical acclaim and a dedicated fandom, the sassy and dry-humored star is an international favorite. With this in mind, there’s always a chance that audiences could catch her on their screens again.
Jenna Ortega Could Play White Tiger In The MCU
While it’s unlikely that Jenna Ortega would ever reprise her role as the Vice President’s daughter in a future Marvel film, there’s always a possibility that she could join another production.
With rumors circulating surrounding the possible involvement of Adam Driver and Joseph Quinn in the new Fantastic Four film, Ortega would fit right in with the type of star the studio is looking for. As for the fans, they’re already hoping to see Ortega take on the role of White Tiger in the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again.
Jenna Ortega Has A Packed Schedule
Although Jenna Ortega’s casting in any upcoming Marvel projects is purely speculation, the star has her hands full with several other productions that are set to be released soon. First up, audiences will see Ortega star alongside the likes of Tommy Lee Jones and Ben Foster in Paramount+’s drama, Finestkind, which has yet to set a release date on the streamer.
On hold due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike is her turn in Beetlejuice 2, a highly-anticipated sequel that sees Ortega join with original cast members Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara as well as Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, and Justin Theroux.
Jenna Ortega will also appear opposite Marvel alum, Paul Rudd (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) in the dark comedy flick, Death of a Unicorn, as well as other titles, including Miller’s Girl, Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, and an untitled project from director Trey Edward Schults.
