The Most Violent Horror Movie In Years Is Going Back To Theaters
Art the Clown is finding his way back to theaters. According to Screambox, the blood-thirsty killer of the Terrifier franchise will be thrilling and chilling horror audiences all over again as Terrifier 2 is set to return to theaters on November 8, 2023. In case October doesn’t offer enough tricks and treats with the arrival of Five Nights at Freddy’s and The Exorcist: Believer, you can keep the scares going right into the next month.
In Screambox’s announcement on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter), the franchise’s writer and director, Damien Leone said that the re-release of Terrifier 2 was a treat to hold audiences over until the third installment scares its way into cinemas next year.
Terrifier 2 will be coming back to theaters on November 8, 2023.
Leone also teased that along with the film’s return to theaters, there would also be “some special surprises.” At this time, it’s not clear which cities the title will be screening in but the post encourages fans to stay tuned for more details.
Arriving in theaters last year, the horror flick was the highly-anticipated return of Art the Clown following his shocking and appalling introduction in 2016’s Terrifier. Finally, after six years of waiting, audiences flocked to cinemas to see what Art was getting up to next in Terrifier 2.
Like the first film, which gained infamy for driving viewers from their seats due to the gore-filled kills, the sequel was no different with many theaters taking matters into their own hands and passing out barf bags.
David Howard Thornton is the silent but deadly Art the Clown in Terrifier 2
Starring David Howard Thornton as the silent but deadly Art the Clown, Terrifier 2 picks up following the events of the first movie, when, at the last moments, viewers came to find out that he wasn’t dead after all.
With a renewed taste for vengeance, Art sets his sights on a teenager named Sienna (Lauren LaVera) and her younger brother Jonathan (Elliott Fullam). Along with Thornton reprising his role as Art from the first film, Samantha Scaffidi also returns with an ensemble including Sarah Voigt, Casey Hartnett, and Kailey Hyman.
As for Terrifier 3, filming is already underway for the next tale in Art’s blood-soaked journey. Thornton is confirmed to reprise his role from Terrifier and Terrifier 2 with the latest installment aiming to go more into the killer clown’s backstory and the motives behind his brutal slayings.
Also set to return for more gorey fun is Lauren LaVera who narrowly escaped the final moments of the sequel with her life. At this time, it’s unclear whether her on-screen brother, Elliott Fullman will reprise his role as Jonathan who also survived the events of the second movie.
With a massive and dedicated cult following, obsessed with the unkillable clown, fans will be excited to learn that Art is resurrecting himself for a return to theaters this November in Terrifier 2.
As previously mentioned, with films like The Exorcist: Believer and Five Nights at Freddy’s arriving for the spooky season as well as Netflix dropping Mike Flanagan’s next project, The Fall of the House of Usher, this fall is a great time to be a horror fan. Stay tuned for more information about Terrifier 2’s return to the big screen.
