New Disney+ Superhero Series Is Taking Over Streaming And It’s Not Marvel
Disney+ is making waves with a new superhero series, and it may come as a surprise that we’re not talking about another Marvel property, but rather the Korean original series, Moving. As of this writing, Moving is the most-watched Korean original on the streaming platform since its debut on August 9, according to Deadline. The 20-episode series is not only raking in the views stateside, but also in the Asia Pacific region.
What’s more, Moving marks the strongest Disney+ premiere to date in Korea, which indicates that the series has mass appeal.

Disney+’s Moving is based on the Kang full web series of the same name, and centers on three high school aged teenagers who discover that they have superpowers that they inherited from their secret agent parents.
The first teen, named Kim Bong-seok has superhuman sensory perception from his mother, and the power of flight from his father. Jang Hui-soo, the second teen, has regenerative capabilities, and is able to recover from injury without pain, a trait she inherited from her father. Lee Kang-hoon, the third teen, is blessed with speed and superhuman strength from his father’s bloodline.
Though each student’s parents mostly work in the service industry and try to keep their powers a secret, the teens are just learning about their supernatural abilities, and have difficulties reconciling their newfound powers with their otherwise normal lives.
As we’ve seen before in Marvel properties streaming on Disney+, a primary source of drama in Moving comes in the form of learning how to live a double life. As each teen tries to navigate through day-to-day high school life, they risk exposure if their powers manifest in public.
Though we’re grateful for all of the Marvel content that Disney+ has in its vast catalog, it’s safe to say that Moving is a refreshing change of pace for those who may be experiencing superhero fatigue.
Though Moving doesn’t currently have a critical score on Rotten Tomatoes, the Disney+ series has a perfect 100 percent audience score. Every single review of the series is overwhelmingly positive, praising the character development and special effects. And to back up the streaming numbers, reviewers have made it clear that the new series is absolutely binge-worthy.
Moving saw its seven-episode Disney+ premiere on August 9, and to date, 11 episodes have been released. The rest of the episodes will be released two at a time in a serialized fashion every Wednesday until the series concludes with the final three episodes on September 20.
And if the positive reviews that we’re currently seeing are any indication of what’s to come, Moving will continue to rake in an intimidating amount of viewers throughout the coming weeks.
