Jujutsu Kaisen Is Coming To Fortnite And It Looks Incredible
Fortnite is teaming up with the sorcerers from Jujutsu Kaisen, and it’s going to be epic. The uber-popular online battle royale has had crossovers with every IP from the NFL to Star Wars, making a collaboration with the popular anime a no-brainer. Fortnite’s parent company, Epic Games, dropped a teaser trailer for the upcoming crossover earlier this week.
Epic Games released a teaser trailer featuring Jujutsu Kaisen‘s upcoming crossover with Fortnite.
The trailer features main character Yuji Itadori and his teammates Megumi, Gojo, and Nobara, as they employ Megumi’s Ten Shadows Technique to turn a pair of shadow puppets being made by anthropomorphic banana Peely and bug-eyed fishperson Fishstick. The two Fortnite mainstays are spooked and flee before the Jujutsu Kaisen crew busts through a brick wall and make their official entrance into the world of Fortnite.
Epic Games’ decision to release an official trailer for the upcoming Fortnite x Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration may have been inspired by recent data mining leaks that uncovered images of Jujutsu Kaisen skins based on Nobara, Megumi, and Gojo. With their secret new collab spoiled, Epic Games had no choice but to announce that the Jujutsu Kaisen content will be released into Fortnite as part of the game’s Version 25.30 update.
The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen began airing last month, which may have also been a factor in the timing of the trailer release.
Jujutsu Kaisen is far from Fortnite‘s first anime collab. The game has previously featured characters and skins from Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, and even the fan-favorite Naruto.
For those unfamiliar with the popular anime, Jujutsu Kaisen follows new student Yuji Itadori as he enrolls in Jujutsu High School with hopes of becoming a powerful Sorcerer.
Yuji needs to learn magic because he swallowed a demon’s finger to protect his friends and became possessed by said demon in the process. Only when Yuji becomes a powerful shaman can he find the demon’s other body parts, eat them, and then exorcise himself.

Since Season 4 of Fortnite‘s battle royale mode, crossovers have been a huge part of the game’s appeal.
Of course, no mention of anime is complete without the words Dragon Ball and Fortnite x Dragon Ball Super was an event that ranked “Over 9000!” The crossover featured the expected Goku and Vegeta skins but also allowed players to dress up as a Kamehameha and ride around on Goku’s flying Nimbus cloud from the original Dragon Ball series.

An exhaustive list of collaborations between Fortnite and outside IPs can be found here but a few of the more standout ones include Deadpool, Ghostbusters, The Walking Dead, NBA, Ferrari, Wu-Tang Clan, and even fellow video game Goat Simulator 3.
No word from Epic Games yet if their Jujutsu Kaisen crossover will feature more than just character skins, but even just getting to dress up as infamous finger-slurper Yuji Itadori will be a dream come true for most fans of the anime.
The Fortnite Version 25.30 update featuring the Jujutsu Kaisen crossover is set to roll out on August 8, 2023
