The DCEU is headed in an entirely new direction now that James Gunn has taken the helm, with plenty of changes happening in the Expanded Universe, which is still struggling to establish some sense of continuity. The newest reports surrounding Warner Bros.’s attempt to copy Marvel’s homework suggest that Gal Gadot is still involved with Wonder Woman and that we can expect to see her in Wonder Woman 3.

A new report states that Gal Gadot is working on a third Wonder Woman movie with James Gunn and Peter Safran.

According to ComicBook.com, Gal Gadot is still developing the Wonder Woman 3 movie with both James Gunn and Peter Safran, despite previous reports that Wonder Woman 3 was canceled. The rumors about the movie’s cancellation came about following Gunn and Safran’s takeover of the rechristened DC Studios when the plans for Patty Jenkins’ return to Wonder Woman 3 went with the wind.

This effectively put a big question mark over Gal Gadot’s future as Wonder Woman, and her cameo appearance in The Flash, which ended up on the cutting room floor, didn’t make things clearer.

What remains unclear, however, is whether Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 3 will be made part of the new continuity, considering the previous movies’ connection to the old DCEU.

Well, as it turns out, Gadot’s fans may have nothing to worry about; the Israeli actress and model looks to be continuing her portrayal in Wonder Woman 3. She first appeared in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice by Zack Snyder, followed by 2017’s Wonder Woman and its 2020 sequel, Wonder Woman 1984—both were helmed by Patty Jenkins.

Gadot also appeared in 2017’s Justice League and 2021’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League—the latter of which was supposed to establish further continuity of the entire DCEU.

What remains unclear, however, is whether Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 3 will be made part of the new continuity, considering the previous movies’ connection to the old DCEU. This question remains particularly interesting as the new DCEU brings us the new Superman and Lois Lane—following Henry Cavill’s departure from the role.

On that note, the British actor also exited The Witcher over creative differences, thus leaving both franchises, much to the fandom’s dismay. However, we’d like to point out that Amazon gave him a full creative range on the Warhammer 40k project they’re currently developing.

If Gunn and Safran decide to make Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 3 a part of the new DCEU, the supposed move likely won’t arrive before 2025—a year in which Superman: Legacy is supposed to release. The new movie is written by Gunn—who kept his directorial role as well—with David Corenswet as the new Superman. In her response regarding new changes and the upcoming Superman movie, Gadot said she only saw different screen tests and that she wished the best of luck to whoever got the part.

Gal Gadot’s Upcoming Netflix Movie

While we wait for more news of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 3 movie, her fans can check out her latest appearance in Netflix’s Heart of Stone, where she’s portraying an intelligence officer standing between her powerful global peacekeeping organization and the loss of a valuable and dangerous asset. Heart of Stone was directed by Tom Harper, and the movie is supposed to debut on Netflix on August 11 this year.
