The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Shows Off Apocalypse-Torn France In First Look
We finally have a release date for the latest spin-off in the Walking Dead franchise, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Per Variety, the Norman Reedus-starring zombie show will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on Septemeber Sept. 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The series will follow Norman Reedus’ fan-favorite character after he washes ashore in an apocalyptic France and attempts to figure out how he ended up there and make his way home.
Along with Norman Reedus, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon stars Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi.
The series was originally going to co-star Melissa McBride reprising her role as Carol from the flagship series but was rewritten as a standalone Daryl show when McBride was unable to film due to logistical reasons. However, a Tweet from Jeffrey Dean Morgan in June indicated that Carol will be in the series still in a more limited capacity.
Fear the Walking Dead is also set to air its final six episodes starting in October later this year.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon was created and co-written by David Zabel, with Scott M. Gimple executive producing alongside Zabel, Reedus, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, and Daniel Percival. Other writers for the first six episodes of the season include Jason Richman, Coline Abert, Shannon Goss, and Laura Snow.
It will be interesting to see the franchise go overseas, as previous spin-offs have stuck to North America, with the flagship series taking place entirely in the United States and the second season of Fear the Walking Dead taking place partially in Mexico.

With The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, the franchise continues to grow rapidly. Although the flagship series aired its final season in 2022, the franchise has multiple spin-offs in the pipeline. Fear the Walking Dead is also set to air its final six episodes starting in October later this year.
The Walking Dead: Dead City was the first new spin-off to hit AMC this year and stars Lauren Cohan as Maggie Greene and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan in post-apocalyptic New York City. That series began airing on June 18 and will air its next episode on July 16. Daryl Dixon will likely be the only other new spin-off we see before the year is over.
Rick And Michonne
The Walking Dead: Rick and Michonne has yet to announce an official release date, but will star Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes and Danai Gurira as Michonne in a series that is being described as an “epic love story.”
At the end of the flagship series, Norman Reedus‘ Daryl set out to find Rick and Michonne, so it will be interesting to see how and if these shows will tie in with one another. Reedus has previously said that you can expect to see some familiar faces on his show, but that could have been in reference to Carol.
In any case, you can tune in and find out when The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon hits AMC in September. You can also check out new episodes of Dead City on Sundays. We’ll keep you updated on all of the franchise’s spin-offs in the meantime.
